I got a 6 minute PR and qualified for the Boston Marathon by 9 minutes!
It was beautiful, first and foremost. The first half was a terrific downhill, but the second half was brutal! The rolling hills never ended. The volunteers were terrific. The aid stations perfectly spaced and well stocked. Plenty of clean porta potties.
I trained uphill AND downhill, which was my salvation on the second half. I would tell others to train the transition between up and downhills. I would also advise people to not go out too fast and save some juice for that second half!
I enjoyed the whole day from the beginning to the end. The bus ride up was great. This run was definitely one of the most professional well put together runs I have ever been to. Awesome run and when I crossed the finish line. That feeling hearing your name being called out. As.awesome!!! Thank you.
Yes by far this was my best time.
Great course. Running through the mountains was awesome. Best views and a clear crisp day.
I followed a strict training program. I followed a well balanced diet.
Make sure you train well, and eat well at least a few months before running this distance. Give it your all the day of the run be confident and never look back. Remember this is your day and you deserve to cross that finish line with a smile. A big accomplishment. Be proud!!!
After the race enjoyed the day with the great music the band was great awesome.
Thank you to the race organizers, you put together a great race day! It is rare to be at a race that all goes as planned. Not a single bump in the road. Everything was smooth, calm, so well run.The volunteers were great and cheerful throughout the day. The water stations were well stocked and always ready for the runners. Awesome!!
No, the day was beautiful, weather perfect, the scenery spectacular, but this body cannot run down hill like that. The legs just gave out, gave it my all, just couldn't do it.
Beautiful and brutal, relentless downhill.
Made the mistake of training for a "regular" marathon. This is not a regular marathon. I added hill repeats to my training thinking it would be enough. KINDERGARTEN! I was in shape, but not ready for this marathon.
Run this course in training. Nothing can prepare you for that downhill, except training that specific route, you must prepare your legs for that pounding.
I live local, just drove up in the morning and home after the race.
Good Job Revel!!

Everything was perfect except the transportation, the race derector shoul have a shattle bus for those full marathon runners who may could not aboard the first shattle buses. That was my case. Unfortunately I did no have the opportunity to start my race at the satart line. Hopefully tha I was not the onlyone who could not start his race where should be.
No
It was nice and nature makes it more gorgus.
Try to be on time
Coul not do anything.
Beautiful race course... It's not any easier just because more than 80% is downhills... You would still suffer and earn the respect. The morning wasn't as cold as I expected... I over dressed lol
Yes. My previous PR was 3:46... But this race I came in 3:17.. And qualified for the Boston marathon.
Beautiful with many trees and shades running thru hills. Downhills surely help PR
Not much training done especially downhills.. Except watching some YouTube clips.. I should've trained downhills..
Dress light. It get warmed up quick.. Try not to over pace just because its downhills
Got together with my club members at a local brewery drinking local beer.

Was the most beautiful
This is the best organized race I have ever participated in! Can you say Pie?! that's right, they had pie at the finish line!! They had beer at the finish line and they had porta potties along the course that were clean, accessible and uncrowded. They had fabulous cheer and water stations, a scenic course and it was downhill to boot. Best of all and what impresses me more than anything else is the race organizers are friendly and fun to to work with! The Pasadena Pacers running club loved this race and we will be back next year with the entire club. If i were you, I would buy your entries early next year because this race will definitely sell out!
Great race day. I did this race last year, so I do have something to compare it to. Great organization and I like the finish line location way better than last year. Super!
No, I am slower every year. I did get my slowest half marathon ever this time.
The course is great and the finish line is superb! The grade on the half marathon is not really a severe downhill, it's very comfortable.
My training is not specific and there is nowhere in my area to train for a downhill race.
Dress warm for the start - it's really chilling cold. Buy a robe with a hood or other warm jacket or large blanket from the thrift store and leave it at the start. I'm assuming Revel donates this clothing back. Arrive early for the buses so you don't stress in traffic.
Came from Santa Clarita and stayed at one of the host hotels near Eastland mall which has many close restaurants for dining. After the race, chill out in the park adjacent.
I like this race and will do it again. I don't have any bad feelings regarding the Denver Revel I didn't get to run when the buses didn't show. Revel is still a good race and a great value for the entry fee.
I like the printed card with the time, etc that is available immediately after finishing.
Seeing sea of excited faces with their mylar sheet wrapped around their bodies was the most memorable for me. There was a bit of a traffic jam entering the carpark; but I think it's part of the excitement.
Yes, I PR'd. 10 minutes off my last best half-marathon. I am not a competitive runner, so I was very happy with my 2:10 result.
It's mostly downhill with some manageable uphill. Fast course with beautiful sceneries. Crisp and cool up until the 10 mile half marathon mark.
I did a lot of downhill training in my area. I think that helped me a lot during and after the race. My recovery was quick.
Dress in layers, it's cold at the start line.
I stayed overnight in a hotel and had pasta dinner at a wonderful Italian restaurant called Vincenzo's Terrazo Restoranti the night before the race.

Cold and dark. Initially thought I was mentally and physically prepared.
Yes. PR of 3:48.20. Previous PR was 4:20.00 at LA Marathon. No BQ (3:35 for my age bracket).
Beautiful scenery. Switchbacks. Rolling hills. Lots of slanting roads-very tough on a nagging foot injury that I've been dealing with.
I underestimated my ability to do hills.
DO NOT DRINK THE HORCHATA ENERGY DRINK! Ugh! Made me nauseous.I did not prepare for the altitude/aridness of the climate. I became dehydrated a lot faster than I realized and paid for it after the race. Layer layer layer!
Nothing. It's Azusa.
