We loved the course. There was plentiful support at the aid stations. The shirt and medal were wonderful! I love how big the medal is! We had problems with our shuttle for the return from the Sheraton. They picked us up far away, at a gas station, so we had a long walk in an unfamiliar city.
No. I walked the course with my mom; it was her first Half, and she isn't a runner. I'll be back to run it though.
Beautiful! There were 3 cars in our lane around mile 11. It was so scenic! I was surprised that there were uphill areas.
This was my 4th Half this spring, so I've been training since January 10. The downhill portion did not bother me; I appreciated the pointers for downhill racing on your website. I would encourage others to practice downhill running.
Stay at a hotel with a shuttle, but not the Sheraton; they were confused with the shuttle at the end. We had to walk a far distance to find the gas station where they were picking up and wait 40 minutes. They weren't where they were supposed to be. Bring a throwaway for at the start.
We have been staying in Estes Park and hiking a lot. We went to dinner at 240 Union, which was good. Otherwise, we did the race and left town. I came in front St Louis, MO and brought my entire family!
The race support was incredible!! Even though I was near the very end I was greeted with such encouragement and enthusiasm and every water stop. The expo had interesting and relevant vendors. I was very pleased and will be back for sure.
Nope :( the altitude got me.
The course was beautiful and I really liked the grading. The uphill turn at the end was a bit disappointing but by then I didn't care much ;)
I didn't have a chance to properly train for this because I thought I registered for the half. I didn't realize I registered for the full til packet pick up the night before.
I came in from California. We toured around Denver and had a great visit.
Great race. I'll be back!

Scenic and fun but very tough on the legs!!
Race day was amazing. Epic job of the hotel having shuttles that took us straight to the start line.
Yes I did PR. 4 minutes from my last years time.
Two words....Amazingly Epic
I train as often as I can get time for which isn't a whole lot
Amazing!!!!!!!!! The scenery and people!
Yes
Beautiful:)
50 miles a week
Be aware of the uphill.
Skiing and hiking!'
Great day
A little difficult and beautiful
4 months that included speed, temp and weights
Train alot. It pays off.
The course was excellent and the staff professional and very well organized.
Yes, I did. I didn't fully realize how a downhill course would effect my time.
The staff were very supportive and enthusiastic, everyone I interacted with was very friendly. Perfect weather and the route was well staffed with police and volunteers, I felt really safe. Bear creek was running high and the course couldn't have been better.
I did a loose version of the Higdin 1/2 training schedule.
The morning was a little cold, the starting point is typically 10 degrees colder than the finish.
I live 4 miles from the finish line, we are locals.
Great course. Very well organized. The only complaint I had was the 2:20 pacer for the half. She ran closer to a 2:05 pace. Defeats the purpose of a pacer.
No
Fast, downhill and beautiful.
I thought the exact same thing and told my wife that after I finished. I tried to keep up but couldn't. I finished in 2:23 so I wasn't far off the 2:20 pace but the pacer did seem way too fast. She could have slowed way down near the end of the race to make the 2:20 time but not sure. I agree that defeats the purpose of a pacer.
Awesome course with beautiful mountain scenery. I found myself saying: what, another mile marker already? I have been a marathon race director for nine years, and this was one of the best organized small to medium sized races I have seen.
I am 63, so my PR was 24 years ago, but I beat this year's Houston time by 12 minutes, with only one day altitude acclimation.
Perfect incline for fast running. Beautiful scenery, this is probably the best course I have been on with over 50 marathons and half's.
I did a lot of hill work in East Texas where we live. Our hills are steeper than the course. I also used an aquajogger some. I would do more speed work to help leg turnover speed for the steeper downhill sections.
I came in from Texas Friday night, had no altitude problems. I wore my cushioned training shoes that was probably a good thing.
Came from Lake Jackson Texas, elevation 21 feet.
Like to do it again next year.
Most beautiful course I have had the opportunity to run!
I didn't
Mind over matter. If it don't mind, it don't matter!
