Great race day beginning to end with the organization of the race and volunteers. The altitude got me which resulted in a very slow finish, but a great race to go slow on considering the beautiful scenery.
No
Beautiful, but unforgiving to this southerner not used to the altitude.
Not as much as I would have liked, but good enough usually it would have been good enough for a 4 hour finish.
Always good to train more. I'll be doing serious downhill training before my next Revel. Cross their fingers that the altitude doesn't affect them.
Lunches and dinners with friends. Will venture out and find things to do in the next couple days before leaving town.
So much fun! Surrounded by so many friends
Great course
Recovering from a marathon 1 month ago so no official training plan
Train long runs downhill
I'm from area so nothing special
Need more port a pots at start
I got the EXACT same time as last year! Seriously down to the second!!
The RACE DAY from start to finish was AMAZING! THANK YOU to all the organizers, the volunteers, the aid stations were perfect, enough potties, and the shuttles were all great! The entire thing was great!
No not a PR
Downhill!!! The scenery was AMAZING! Classic CO marathon!
I didn't really train. I would train next time more downhill training for my joints.
Train downhill racing. My joints hurt from not training downhill!
The post race festivities were great! We came from denver and drove up.
You guys did such a great job!

Wonderful!!!So fast!!
12 min PR on the half
The down hill was perfect! I just had to get used to the altitude!! Beautiful scenery! Could not pick a better bit of scenery!! Loved the river!!
I ran more monthly miles in the last two months than ever before! We should have come out a few days earlier to adjust to the altitude!
Do it! Best fastest race!
Hiking..lake. Red rocks.. outside dining!
Great weekend!
From Springfield Missouri!
Up early early...2:30.. to get ready. Cool morning....blanket was nice. Bus ride was good to start. Being from Houston I thought got would have altitude problems but my wife and I did fine. Vast majority of course was downhill. We did not try to set a personal best. Good course with only two uphills of any consequence. The slight uphill at end was minor. We enjoyed everything about this event. Thank you for everything.
No PR as we were concerned about altitude. We still did an excellent time and we're within 8 minutes.
Two uphills that were not bad at all. Majority of course downhill with some long downhills at times. Nice scenery along corse when you left interstate. Elevation ends up going no problem.
We have done quite a few marathons and half marathons in Houston area. We did minimal training as we had run a few halfs in past few weeks. Being at the altitude it was we felt extra tracing was not necessary. We did come up early and hike Rocky Mountain National Park to help us acclimate. We feel it helped.
Try to come up early. When you have downhill grads you tend to accelerate somewhat. We had to hold back at times. The slant on the road at curves can be a problem. We also had the usual pasta two evenings before event. Even though a little chilly to us we decided we would warm up quickly when race started and wore our usual outfor..shorts and short sleeve...no gloves or jacket and were fine. Wear your brien in shoes. Weather was not a factor.
Before race we hiked Rocky Mountain National Park for three days. Afterwards we are, good no to Arches and Canyonlands National Park to hike. We came from Houston, Texas.
The day was well organized. The buses departed timely, and the volunteers were on top of it making sure people didn't get on the wrong buses. The race didn't have any recycle bins, just trash cans which was unfortunate.
Set a PR by 14 minutes on the half marathon! I wanted to break 2:00, and I came in at 1:56:10. It was awesome!
The course was fast. The street is sloped on the downhill, so one side of your body takes a beating with each turn. The scenery is great! Can't beat Colorado mountains!
I would definitely incorporate more downhill training. Otherwise, I surpassed my training time goal by 13 seconds/mile, and it was easy. I didn't train to run as fast as I did. The course helps.
Train downhill!
I live in the area, so I didn't do anything before or after. I just ate and relaxed!
Add some recycle bins at the finish and this race gets a 5/5!
The early start was rough but the race was highly organized and the course was spectacular!!! This was my first half marathon and I'm so glad I chose it.
I set a goal of under 3 hours and completed in 2 hrs 48 mins
Beautiful views, gradual down hills. The course starts with two easy up hills. The sharp turn and hill at the end was not fun!
In glad I figured out how to not "put on the brakes" while running downhill!
I would recommend you do some significant downhill training before this race. And make sure it's on pavement
Had a nice dinner before trying to get some sleep
I went into it very worried about the heat. It was great-cloudy and cool until I hit about mile 18-20 when the sun came out and started to warm up quickly. Still, it was much better than I anticipated. Hooray! Always love the Ryan Gosling sign!
Nope, 2 seconds slower than last year. Second year where I qualified for Boston but just barely so I probably won't make it in again. I'll be back next year to try yet again!
The first 11 miles are screaming downhill so it's tough not to go out too fast. The hills through Evergreen are tough for me but it's the flat-ish, shade free section between miles 21-23 that do me in every year. Then you can really pick it up on the last 3 miles. It's the most beautiful scenery of any race I've ever run.
I trained hard this year. Peak mileage at 60 which definitely helped my endurance, but need to work on speed more to get to Boston! Several downhill runs helped prep my quads.
Train on downhill AND uphill. It tends to get toasty at the end of the marathon so hydrate early and often. Don't forget to look at the gorgeous mountain scenery!
I drove down from Fort Collins at 2am so no fun pre race activities but my spectators and I went to a local restaurant after the race and enjoyed a nice meal. Thanks for another great race!!
I loved the view running next to the creek and having the race all downhill.
Breathtaking, I was nervous that the slope would be steeper, I was pleasantly surprised.
I live in a very flat area of Texas; it was hard to find long distances to train going downhill. I may have come up a week early and done a few runs in the mountains to get acclimated.
Make sure to bring warm throw away clothes to wear before the race while you wait to start.
We went to the Coors Brewery Tour, The Denver Zoo, The Denver Mint, and went white water rafting.
I would definitely do a Revel Race again. I loved that I never felt crowded while running; this was a smaller race then the Rock and Roll Marathons I've run in the past, and it was extremely well organized. I would have liked to be able to sit down in the beer area after the race or been able to sit on the Rock wall across the way, but that was a minor thing. Overall I was impressed! Loved the big medal, the cool design for the shirt ( I got the mens), the socks/gloves, but most of all the free pictures! The race was so beautiful, I can't wait to see the pictures. There were so many special touches, even the volunteers handing out water and cheering for you using your name. This was my first Revel Race, thanks for making it great!
