Consistent Start with Changes Midway Matthew maintained a consistent pace during the initial miles, hitting the 1-mile and 2-mile markers each at exactly 6:41. His first three splits were very steady, with pace variations within just a second or two. However, a notable change in split times occurred after mile 4, where his pace increased to 7:07. Up until this point, Matthew managed to gradually gain positions from 182 overall at mile 3 to 239 at mile 7. The latter part of the race showed a notable drop in pace starting from mile 8, with the slowest split recorded at 9:50 for mile 12. In terms of pacing, he finished with an overall pace of 7:53 min/mile, comparable to his previous year's performance of 7:23 min/mile.
