Consistent Start, Challenging Finish Nika Spencer displayed a strong start in her race at the 2025 REVEL Big Bear Half Marathon. Beginning with an impressive first mile at a pace of 8:02 min/mile, Nika quickly gained momentum, hitting her fastest pace of 7:28 min/mile between miles 1 and 2. Positions improved significantly during these early miles, jumping from 623rd to 506th overall. During this phase, she maintained consistent pacing, holding a place within the top 30 in her age division. As the race progressed, a gradual deceleration was observed, with the pace slowing to 9:37 min/mile by mile 4 and further to 13:58 min/mile by mile 11. Ultimately, Nika completed the half marathon with an overall time of 2:22:13 and an average pace of 10:51 min/mile. Emphasizing endurance training and pacing in the latter stages could enhance her performance in future races. Great effort representing the Hodge Podge team!
