  1. Overall Rating

    5/5 Stars

  2. Describe your race day.

Perfect Race from registry, logistics and running ! I specifically like the races text alerts that I could link to friends and family. The whole event was well coordinated and for half of what I paid for the San Francisco marathon in July there was twice as much race loot for revel race runners!

  3. Did you PR?

Yes . Qualified for Boston .

  4. How would you describe the course?

Very fast with the decline which is extremely taxing on quads, hips and knees so the right training and footwear was key for a race like this. Beautiful scenic run!

  5. Tell us about your training.

Run everyday ! Try and get better but for the most part just do it for me. It’s my time.

  6. What advice would you give future runners?

Good shoes. For competitive runners I went with comfort over some of my lighter faster shoes. Race is a chilly start at high elevation so be prepared if you need to have throwaway layers.

  7. What fun things did you do in the area before or after the race?

Traveled from Fresno day prior just enough time to rest and drive back .

I have some questions. I'd want to run around 3:00-3:10, I know you are faster than me but still could advice me good. Questions: 1. Do you think vaporfly 4% could work well with this course? I read it's all paved, and the 4% has a lot of plush. Originally I planned & trained with Hoka carbon rocket but I changed my mind after the Tahoe trifecta. 2. Reviews are inconsistent about gels. Should I supply mine or I can grab from aid stations? I definitely won't bring my own liquid though. 3. Pre race layers are also inconclusive. If organizers provide gloves and mylar blanket it should be enough. Do they provide? Besides that do you think a racing top and shorts enough (there will be rolling hills the first 8-9 miles). 4. Are the rolling hills significant in your opinion? 5. Some reviews say to take advantage of embankment, I'd imagine that like with a single trail run like a mountain bike, but this is paved course. How is the pavement situation? Thanks.
