Consistent Start, Challenging Finish Andrea Rego showcased a strong start to her race at the 2025 REVEL White Mountains Marathon, maintaining a brisk pace of 8:05 min/mile for the first two miles—an impressive demonstration of her capabilities. Mile 3 saw Andrea pushing her limits with a 7:52 min/mile split, one of her fastest of the day. Throughout the initial 10 miles, her average pace was strong, fluctuating between 8:00 to 8:36 min/mile, and ranking 38th in the F40-44 division at the 2-mile mark. However, as the race progressed into the later stages, maintaining that pace became more challenging. Andrea finished with an overall time of 4:38:52 and an average pace of 10:38 min/mile. In the final 10 kilometers, her splits increased notably, hitting a peak split time of 15:59 in mile 25. While her placement shifted to 66th in her division, Andrea’s resolve was evident as she pushed through to the finish for her team, Colonial Road Runners. Reassessing pacing strategies for the latter half could be beneficial in subsequent races.
