• Marathon

  The REVEL Mt Lemmon Limited Edition marathon course offers the best of the Coronado National Forest, including breathtaking views of the forests and cliffs high atop the mountains and the majestic Saguaro cactus fields in the foothills of Tucson. Runners will enjoy the fresh scent of towering pines, glimpses of mountain wildlife, and the charm of the Summerhaven community. If that were not enough, the course is downhill on a paved highway and is a Boston Marathon qualifier!

  The marathon begins roughly 25 miles up the Mt Lemmon Highway near the Sawmill Run restaurant in the quaint town of Summerhaven. Standing at 8,000 ft above sea level surrounded by snowcapped peaks and fresh mountain air, runners will feel a world away from nearby downtown Tucson. The course begins with a slightly challenging set of hills in the first four miles as runners leave the Summerhaven area, and then settles in for an epic drop of over 5,000 feet to the finish line.

  As they make their way down the mountain, runners will enjoy stunning views of the sun rising over Willow Canyon. During the eleventh mile, the marathoners will be treated to the best lookout vista in Arizona as they make their way around Windy Point.

  Slightly farther down the mountain the course changes imperceptibly from Pines and Oaks to Saguaro cactus hills, all the while maintaining a perfectly smooth downhill grade. Upon reaching the bottom of the mountain, runners will make their way through the foothill community of Tanque Verde for the final mile before ending at Tanque Verde High School.

• Half Marathon

  The REVEL Mt Lemmon Limited Edition half marathon course offers the best of the Coronado National Forest, including breathtaking views of the forests and cliffs high atop the mountains and the majestic Saguaro cactus fields in the foothills of Tucson. Runners will enjoy the fresh scent of towering pines, glimpses of mountain wildlife, and the serenity that can only be found in the canyons of Mt Lemmon. If that were not enough, the course is entirely downhill on a paved highway!

  The half marathon begins roughly 12 miles up the Mt Lemmon Highway near the Chihuahua picnic area. Standing at nearly 6,000 ft above sea level surrounded by towering peaks and fresh mountain air, runners will feel a world away from nearby downtown Tucson.

  As they make their way down the mountain, runners will enjoy stunning views of the sun rising over Willow Canyon. The course includes an unbelievable set of gradual downhill switchbacks offering views of the mountains and valleys below.

  Slightly farther down the mountain the course changes imperceptibly from Pines and Oaks to Saguaro cactus hills, all the while maintaining a perfectly smooth downhill grade. Upon reaching the bottom of the mountain, runners will make their way through the foothill community of Tanque Verde for the final mile before ending at Tanque Verde High School.
