  1. Overall Rating

    4/5 Stars

  2. Describe your race day.

I loved the scenery. It was surreal. This was my first marathon ever. I had no idea what to expect. Busses and traffic delayed the race, but it worked out.

  3. Did you PR?

Yes. This was my first marathon.

  4. How would you describe the course?

The altitude was the hardest part. Once I got towards the end, I actually got faster.

  5. Tell us about your training.

Since this was my first marathon and the longest I had ever run in my life was 4 miles , each week I broke new ground on my distance running. Once I completed my 20 mile training run, that’s when I realized “Hey, I think I can do this “

  6. What advice would you give future runners?

Get plenty of downhill and uphill training. Flat ground training will help, but you’ll get gassed out towards the end.

  7. What fun things did you do in the area before or after the race?

I was motivated to finish most by knowing I was going to have Kneaders French Toast at the finish line.

Don’t let the final aid station run out of water or staff. That was a tough finish having exhausted my water supply 3 miles previously.
