Steady Start with a Strong Second Third Gabriela Bazarte Rios, 38, from Columbus, OH, maintained a consistent pace during the beginning stages of the 2025 REVEL Big Cottonwood Marathon. Her initial splits hovered around the 11:30 min/mile mark for the first two miles. During the third mile, the pace saw a slight increase to 12:16 min/mile, but she managed to keep place steady. Noteworthy was her performance between miles 6 to 9, with a split pace improvement back to around 12:50 min/mile. The middle section of the course showcased resilience as Gabriela pushed through an impressive pace in mile 18, clocking in at 15:25 min/mile, which briefly placed her 2nd in her division. Despite challenges in the latter miles, her overall race time was 6:34:38, finishing 54th in her division.
