Lena’s Consistent Progress with a Slight Drop in Pace Lena completed the 2025 REVEL Big Cottonwood Half Marathon with a total time of 1:53:40, averaging an 8:40 min/mile pace over 13.1 miles. Early splits were quite strong, beginning with an 8:14 min/mile and improving to 7:29 min/mile in miles 4 and 5. Her initial splits show efficient pacing. However, there was a notable slowing to 10:32 min/mile at mile 7. She did manage to recover somewhat, finishing with more stable later splits. Compared to her previous performances, Lena’s time shows a slight increase from her recent half marathons. Past events, like the 2018 race, saw her finishing in 1:43:31 at a pace of 7:54 min/mile. It's great she maintains a consistent presence at this race event, participating annually. Focusing on the middle miles might prove beneficial, as there seems to be a drop in pace around mile 7. Perhaps incorporating specific training to target stamina and pacing mid-race could enhance her future outcomes.
