Consistent Effort with Late Surges Kayla Inkley demonstrated consistent pacing in her half marathon at the 2025 REVEL Big Cottonwood. Beginning with a steady first mile at a 9:54 min/mile pace, she moved into a rhythm averaging around 10:30 min/mile through the third mile. Although her pace slowed slightly, her perseverance shone through from mile four onward, as she managed to recover in miles five to eight, clocking paces between 12:03 to 12:20 min/mile. From mile nine onwards, Kayla encountered a gradual decrease in pace culminating in a consistent sub-13:45 pace through miles nine to eleven. The final 13.1-mile elapsed time was 2:47:31, achieving an average pace of 12:47 min/mile. Despite shifts in momentum, particularly around mile four, her ability to adjust and maintain a slightly quicker pace in the later stages is commendable. Focusing on even pacing might enhance her performance in future races.
