Consistent Start, Final Miles Need Pacing Refinement Matthew showed a strong and consistent pace in the early miles of the race. He started with a split pace of 7:49 min/mile and gradually improved to his fastest pace of 7:03 min/mile by the fourth mile. Notably, his placement improved from 413 to 325 overall. His average pace for the first half of the race was approximately 7:25 min/mile, keeping him firmly in a competitive position within his division. In the second half of the race, Matthew faced a challenge in maintaining his earlier pace. From mile 9 onwards, there was a noticeable slowdown, with splits exceeding 8:00 min/mile, culminating in a final pace of 8:50 min/mile. His overall placement fell to 531 at the finish. While his performance was solid, pacing strategy in the final miles could be an area to refine for future races to maintain that early momentum and improve his finishing position.
