Balanced Pacing with Consistent Improvement Cody Garrett showcased an impressive performance at the 2025 REVEL Big Cottonwood Marathon, finishing with an elapsed time of 4:09:34 and maintaining a consistent average pace of 9:31 min/mile. Splits for the first half of the race demonstrated strong pacing, starting with an 8:57 min/mile at mile 1, remaining steady around 9:00 min/mile for most of the initial 14 miles. Notably, there was a clear measure of endurance and perseverance as he maintained a sub-10 min/mile pace for the majority of the race. Cody improved upon his previous best marathon time from last year's event by a margin of 5 minutes and 35 seconds. His placement saw a positive shift as well; moving up significantly in different categories when compared to prior races, including placing 50th in his current M40-44 division compared to higher placements in the M35-39 category in past races. Fine-tuning speed endurance in the later miles could further enhance his performance.
