  1. Overall Rating

    4/5 Stars

  2. Describe your race day.

I don't consider myself a "downhill" runner and was a little nervous before the race star, so ran pretty conservativet. I absolutely LOVED the small things about this race; gloves and mylar blankets at the start, ice cold wash clothes and water at the finish. Very special touches!! Oh, I liked the results cards, too!

  3. Did you PR?

I did not - and definitely wasn't trying. It would have been nice to get another BQ, but I was a few minutes off.

  4. How would you describe the course?

That is some crazy downhill elevation! Beautiful scenery until the last out and back for the full. Once I turned, the course wasn't very pretty anymore. I most especially did not like the last few miles with heavy traffic on either side of me. Nice finish area, though. Easy to maneuver through and find friends and checked gear.

  5. Tell us about your training.

I'm a Marathon Maniac and run often and far. I did have a hip flexor injury this past spring that had me going a little slower than normal the past few races. Slowly getting some speed back. This was my fastest marathon in the past 6 months and I'm happy to report that my quads are feeling good.

  6. What advice would you give future runners?

Trust in the training. Don't go out too fast. Eat/drink before you feel the urge.

  7. What fun things did you do in the area before or after the race?

I went to In-N-Out Burger (they aren't located in WA). Yep, that was it. I was in SLC for approximately 25 hours to run the race before flying back to Seattle.
