  1. Overall Rating

    4/5 Stars

  2. Describe your race day.

Catching the 3:15 pacer about midway down the canyon and not being passed by him again.
Parking and space at marathon start was pretty crowded.

  3. Did you PR?

Yes. Went about 3 1/2 minutes under fastest time.
    Qualified for Boston.

  4. How would you describe the course?

Great. A bit steep at the upper Guardsman Pass section. The parts between Brighton and the S curve were ideal for stretching out your legs. Not too steep.

  5. Tell us about your training.

Tried to limit fats and carbs in diet. Did more hill and trail work, and ran the canyons a few times (both Big and Little Cottonwood) to acclimate to the downhill.
Used a few other Spring marathons to build up stamina.

  6. What advice would you give future runners?

Run the canyons a few times (both Big and Little Cottonwood) to acclimate to the downhill. Do both uphill and downhill.

  7. What fun things did you do in the area before or after the race?

Massage. Live locally, so not anything specific.
