  2. Describe your race day.

It was convenient to catch the bus at the Crystal Inn. The sunrise right before the start of the race was beautiful. The race started faster than I expected, and it was nice to have reprieve from the downhill around mile 19. I've never been more happy to see a finish line.

  3. Did you PR?

    I PR'd by 14 minutes.

  4. How would you describe the course?

The course is fast-- not to be confused with "easy." I underestimated it, and it tore apart my calves. I could barely run the last three miles.

  5. Tell us about your training.

I felt well trained for the race, but I wasn't prepared for the grade of the downhill, and my calves paid the price. I recommend doing fast training runs on a similar downhill.

  6. What advice would you give future runners?

The Crystal Inn was great. They even packed us bagels and bananas. The Mylar blankets were nice, but come prepared in layers. I made the mistake of not wearing gloves, and my hands froze. I wore my hat (beanie) until mile 22 when I finally took it off.
