  1. Overall Rating

    5/5 Stars

  2. Describe your race day.

The volunteers were great. Very enthusiastic! And I loved the scenery. It was absolutely gorgeous.

  3. Did you PR?

No, I did not set a PR, but I did qualify for Boston. I was 19 minutes off my PR

  4. How would you describe the course?

The downhill was brutal for me because I do not have any hills where I train, so it made for an interesting race. The scenery was breath-taking.

  5. Tell us about your training.

I trained 40-50 miles a week, but heat and humidity affected a lot of my runs since I live in Louisiana. I would do more long runs if I could go back in time. Training advice would be to work on running downhill.

  6. What advice would you give future runners?

Don't let the out and back from miles 18-22 fool you. It may very relatively flat, but it was the hardest. Also, don't try to slow down too much in the first mile, the course levels out. Also, just walk the hill at mile 3, it took too much effort to run since I didn't do any hill training. Lastly, bring throwaway gear to the top. It's cold up there!

  7. What fun things did you do in the area before or after the race?

My fiancé and I flew in from Louisiana. We stayed close to the race finish. We didn't have much time for sight seeing but we enjoyed some local restaurants!
