  2. Describe your race day.

Such a great day! Couldn't have asked for better weather! The race course was so very beautiful and when you felt like you couldn't go anymore all you had to do was focus on the scenery and enjoy! The shuttle went very smoothly and everyone on them were very friendly! My husband and I decided to run this race for our 2nd anniversary and we'll be back next year! .....maybe for the full....

  3. Did you PR?

This was my first half so yes it was a PR! I did finish 10 minutes under my predicted time!

  4. How would you describe the course?

Colorful Colorado! The first part of the half had three hills right off the bat, pace yourself! The rest is primarily downhill with some flattened areas. Coming into mile 8 I believe there was a pretty too long hill. The scenery was to die for! Nothing beats the views of the Rockies!!!

  5. Tell us about your training.

I enjoyed increasing my long runs every week. I also figured that, although a "downhill" course, there would be some hills. I ran long down hill runs and my short runs I involved hills. I can't stress enough how much his helped my training and endurance for the first 3 miles and coming into mile 8. Next year I will incorporate more short runs and more runs on pavement.

  6. What advice would you give future runners?

After you cross the finish line, dazed and confused, make sure you grab the food they are offering even if you feel like you're goin to puke. Once you exit you cannot re enter that area. Although when my husband explained what a ditz I was to one of the volunteers they provided me with some awesome post meal snacks. I also put my flip flops in my drop bag and it was amazing to take my shoes off as we checked out the end of race festivities. Now that I know the drop bags make it back in such great condition, I'll throw a change of clothing in as well.

  7. What fun things did you do in the area before or after the race?

The post race beer was fabulous!!!! Maybe it would be nicer if there were some chairs or picnic tables in the beer garden to make it a tad more enjoyable. We took pictures and talked with all the other racers. It was great to meet people from all over the country and hear about their experience! Oh an maybe coffee at the starting area ;)
My group came up from Canon City,Colorado.
