  2. Describe your race day.

Good signs to the shuttles, thanks. The volunteers & police were very good, very good. I unfortunately had to play a gig the night before in Estes, so only got about two hours sleep. But that's not abnormal before a marathon. . . Would be nice if the clothing bags were a bit closer to the finish, or the same direction as the shuttles. Not enough bathrooms at the start, was very slow. Lots of folks hitting the woods before and during the early going race. Always nice to have buses with restrooms for the long ride after hydrating really well all week. I really that's expensive . . . Solve those items, the course and volunteers are four-star, so the whole race would be.

  3. Did you PR?

No, far too old for that. :)

  4. How would you describe the course?

Loved the course, though the Evergreen hills were quite tough and long. Liked the last five miles and of course the first 8 or 10 or so coming out of the high mountains. Would be nice if it was a bit earlier in the year, though being from Estes, I know the challenges that this might lead to. We have the same prob in Estes, quite often very hot day. Glad it wasn't the day before. And it's GREAT that you start at 6 AM, though it's tough to get going that early, it's worth the early start.

  5. Tell us about your training.

Hydrated well, knowing the weather would be hot. Not enough long mileage, well-trained for half, but haven't got the long miles. We do a lot of downhill running in Estes and RMNP to get ready, but more would be good. It's not just adjusting the stride, you have to do a lot of it in training.

  6. What fun things did you do in the area before or after the race?

Ate in Golden, Café 13, quite nice. Other than that, didn't have much time for it.
