  2. Describe your race day.

Up early early...2:30.. to get ready. Cool morning....blanket was nice. Bus ride was good to start. Being from Houston I thought got would have altitude problems but my wife and I did fine. Vast majority of course was downhill. We did not try to set a personal best. Good course with only two uphills of any consequence. The slight uphill at end was minor. We enjoyed everything about this event. Thank you for everything.

  3. Did you PR?

No PR as we were concerned about altitude. We still did an excellent time and we're within 8 minutes.

  4. How would you describe the course?

Two uphills that were not bad at all. Majority of course downhill with some long downhills at times. Nice scenery along corse when you left interstate. Elevation ends up going no problem.

  5. Tell us about your training.

We have done quite a few marathons and half marathons in Houston area. We did minimal training as we had run a few halfs in past few weeks. Being at the altitude it was we felt extra tracing was not necessary. We did come up early and hike Rocky Mountain National Park to help us acclimate. We feel it helped.

  6. What advice would you give future runners?

Try to come up early. When you have downhill grads you tend to accelerate somewhat. We had to hold back at times. The slant on the road at curves can be a problem. We also had the usual pasta two evenings before event. Even though a little chilly to us we decided we would warm up quickly when race started and wore our usual outfor..shorts and short sleeve...no gloves or jacket and were fine. Wear your brien in shoes. Weather was not a factor.

  7. What fun things did you do in the area before or after the race?

Before race we hiked Rocky Mountain National Park for three days. Afterwards we are, good no to Arches and Canyonlands National Park to hike. We came from Houston, Texas.
