  1. Overall Rating

    5/5 Stars

  2. Describe your race day.

From getting a 2am wake up call from the hotel, arriving super early to the bussing area, the ride up, the sunrise, the beautiful scenery and sounds for 26.2 miles to barely being able to walk right for days after....I wouldn't change it for the world!

  3. Did you PR?

Yes, I PR'ed by an estimated 8ish seconds. I ran a shortened 25.4 mile course a few months back at Woodlands with a time of 2:55 and an adjusted time of 3:00:49. Came to chase my elusive 'unicorn' and qualified for Boston after running a 3:00:40

  4. How would you describe the course?

Scenic, beautiful, stunning, well marked and a fast downhill but don't be deceived, there are some uphills as well that I seen people struggle with.

  5. Tell us about your training.

Marathon training since September last year. Ran a 3:08 at Houston but didn't respect the weather and kicked way too soon. Ran an estimated 3:00:49 at The Woodlands but was thrown out due to a course error and not accepted by Boston. Kept training going and it paid off. Hard to train for downhill/uphill in Houston but I did what I could.

  6. What advice would you give future runners?

Try to get into the state as early as possible to acclimate.

Run a smart race, try not to(although it proved difficult) to not start out too fast and save a little something for the end.

I love the cold weather so I ran w/o a shirt, make sure to use your drop bag for extra clothes if you want to stay warm at the start.

  7. What fun things did you do in the area before or after the race?

Manitou Incline the immediate day after. Dumbest, most rewarding thing I've ever done.
Biked down Pike's Peak with Challenge Unlimited.
Got to run around different parts of the state every day I was there.
    Breweries and great food galore!!
Came from Houston and almost didn't want to come back.
