Consistent Start, Slower Finish Karen began the race in strong form, with each of her first four miles showing consistent and improving splits, reducing from a 9:18 min/mile pace to a 9:02 min/mile pace. It was notable how her placement improved during this time, particularly her division placement, which moved up from 28th to 24th. The race proved challenging towards the end, where she faced increasing elapsed times and pacing. Her split paces from miles 9 to the finish exceeded 10 min/mile, with the highest at 11:14 min/mile and her placement dropping as a result.
