Strong Start, Consistent Mid-Race, Tiring Finish Mason Lewis maintained an impressive pace throughout the marathon, with his standout moment being at the 7th mile, clocking a 5:27 split pace, the fastest of his race. His ability to consistently keep a pace around the 6:11-6:13 min/mile range for a majority of the race was commendable. However, Mason experienced a notable decrease in pace in the final few miles, with the last split extending to a 7:19 min/mile pace. Despite finishing strong amidst high competition with 2690 participants, Mason could focus on improving his final splits. His overall position was 70th, placing 13th within the Male 19-24 age division. Achieving an elapsed time of 2:47:16 over the 26.2 miles is quite impressive, but attention to maintaining momentum in the final miles could be beneficial in future events. Effective pacing strategies might help sustain energy throughout the entirety of the race.
