By maintaining sub-8:00 paces for the initial kilometers, such as 8:02 for mile 2 and 8:07 for mile 3, she positioned herself well within her age division. The noteworthy first half performance placed Catey at 80th among female competitors and 14th in her F45-49 division after the first mile.
