Consistent Performance with Strategic Pacing Hector demonstrated impressive pacing consistency throughout the marathon, managing his speed remarkably well. Starting at an 8:20 min/mile pace for the first mile, he effectively accelerated by mile 2, where his pace improved to 7:10 min/mile. Hector maintained a steady pace ranging between 7:01 and 7:12 min/mile from mile 3 through mile 16, showcasing excellent endurance and strategic speed control. Notably, he achieved his fastest mile in 6:51 during mile 7. In the later stages, while Hector experienced a gradual slowdown, with mile 20 at an 8:46 min/mile pace and further slowing to 9:48 min/mile at mile 21, he successfully regained balance, finishing his last mile at 7:51 min/mile. With an overall time of 3:23:37 and an elapsed pace of 7:46 min/mile, Hector placed 98th in the M45-49 division out of 2690 participants. Continuing to refine his pacing strategy in later miles could enhance future performance. Excellent race overall!
