Consistent Pacing with a Slight Late Challenge Mark Edwards maintained an impressive and consistent pace throughout much of the race. Starting with an 8:47 min/mile pace in the first mile, he accelerated to a 7:40 min/mile pace at the 6-mile mark and sustained it for a significant portion of the race. Notably, he recorded a fastest split of 6:56 min/mile between miles 14 and 22, showcasing potential for a strong mid-race performance. Mark's overall positioning improved consistently, moving from 1242nd to a respectable 676th by mile 20. In the later stage of the race, a decline in pace was observed, with splits ranging from 9:52 to 11:20 min/mile between miles 23 and 26. Despite this dip, Mark completed the marathon with a finishing time of 3:23:58 and an overall pace of 7:47 min/mile. His overall placement was 843rd out of 2690 participants.
