Consistent & Strong Performance in M50-54 Division Derek Stefureac put forth an excellent performance at the 2026 REVEL Mt Charleston Half Marathon. Clocking in at 1:26:19, Derek maintained a steady overall pace of 6:35 min/mile. Notably, he secured first place in his division (M50-54) against 1542 participantsa repetition of his previous year's success. Particularly impressive was his negative split from miles 6 to 7, where he improved his pace from 6:48 to 6:07 min/mile, helping him move up in both gender and overall rankings. Throughout the race, Derek demonstrated consistent pacing with all mile times staying below 7:00 min/mile. His strong finish from mile 9 onwards shows excellent endurance and ability to maintain speed over distance, even accelerating to 6:24 min/mile by mile 10. A strategic focus on maintaining or even slightly increasing speed in the last quarter could further enhance his future performances.
