  2. Describe your race day.

I would recommend more porta potties at the start location. There were a lot at drop off, and I needed to use one again before starting (nerves), but there were lines there and I got a 10 minute late start. This had me anxious because I really wanted to PR today. I passed a lot of people, but spent a lot of time bobbing and weaving through the crowds to start because I was mixed in with walkers and at the back of the pack.

  3. Did you PR?

No, I didn't PR like I wanted. The new course had rolling hills at the end I wasn't expecting/prepared for.

  4. How would you describe the course?

It's a downhill run start through mile 7. Then it flattens out a bit, and even small decent until mile 10. At mile 10 there's a turn and you're facing rolling hills for the last three miles.

  5. Tell us about your training.

I had surgery mid training so I was out for two weeks. I did better than I expected, but not my best. I trained with a friend who is slower than I am, and used Aaptiv app for outdoor/treadmill runs.

  6. What advice would you give future runners?

Be prepared for rolling hills when you are fatigued. The last 5k of the course is NOT only downhill, but has uphill and flat spots as well.

  7. What fun things did you do in the area before or after the race?

The end of the race seemed a bit more clustered this year, but during the expo I tried the rapid reboot which was cool. I would have used them post run but the line was long. I live in Henderson.
