Love the scenery, the course and volunteers :)
I PR'ed by 61 minutes!!! Did not qualify for Boston but this was an amazing leap for it being my second marathon ever.
I very much enjoyed he mountains and trees and then the desert scenery.
I was coming off of an injury so was slowly ramping up again but not nearly getting in the mileage I wanted in the previous weeks.
My advise to others is to take your rest days seriously and do a lot of preventative work! You'll thank yourself later!
It was very chilly at the beginning so I appreciated true race getting started very promptly. The pie and cold towel at the of the race were phenomenal.
Wonderful. I did the race last year and I will be back next year.
No, wasn't trying.
Delightful.
Nothing special, just hiking and walking constantly.
Be prepared to have fun!
None.
Let me know when 2018 registration opens.
Thanks.
Excellent!
No, I was pacing.
Fantastic!
Lots of trail running with downhill.
Do it!!!
Great finish spread and fun visiting friends afterwards.
despues de luchar contra el cancer por 4 anos hayer disfrute de la excelente organizacion de la carrera terminado la 1/2 marathon en 2:29 gracias REVEL nos vemos en 2018!!!!!!!!
I finished. That's a good memory for me
Sadly no. I was about 4 mins off. I'll try again.
It's a great course. Easy but grueling (for me anyway). Scenery was nice, what I noticed of it
I need more. Felt like I was undertrained. I would definitely train better. Didn't run downhill much & it took a toll on my legs. Only adice is train & be ready for anything, cold, wind, etc.
Same as answer before
Before the race, I just tried to keep warm. The mylar blanket & glove were a great idea. After the race, I checked out the vendors. Refreshmen were good, more than enough. Keep up the good work. I drove in from San bernardino, CA.
love the new course finish - last 3 miles - much better than last year. Great vibe!
YES
Awsome
I wasn't able to do as much downhill training this year so my calves are killing me today.... so for sure next year - I need to run more downhills!!
It's super cold at the start so wear layers that you are happy to shed.
Soaked up the atmosphere of being in the most beautiful location

Great! Would've loved a cold beer at the end though!
Nope
Scenery was awesome until Mile8.
Didn't train any differently than what I normally do.
Wear layers you can shed easily.
I came from Lake Havasu City, AZ. I use to live in Las Vegas. Didn't do much. Made the rest of my time for my kids.
Great race but somewhat frustrating outcome. Thanks for putting on a great event,
No. 2 1/2 minutes slower than my PR set last year at Mt. Charleston.
Still think it is probably the fastest course in the country. The out and back about mile 23 was really nasty due to the headwind and slight climb that far into the race. Hopefully the permitting can be resolved for the loop at mile 5 instead.
Used the Advanced Revel Coaching. Followed it exactly and still went backwards from last year. Advice is to make sure you train on some hills. I'm not sure what I would do differently.
Dress in layers. The cold at the start goes away very quickly.
None
It was set up very well... I loved the course,
This was my first 13.1.... I had a time of 2:18:40
Awesome
Trained for 2 1/2 months running about 23 miles a week.
Train for your race...
Had a great time...
Vans and supplies were great. Loved the course. Felt water stations needed more staff.
yes by 13 minutes
beautiful up top but last 4 miles not so pretty.
Trained with Paul from Revel!
Train downhill and hills
traveled from SLO just came for the race
Thank you Revel BQ and PR
I felt amazing the whole way down the canyon and entering the long stretch of frontage road, but mile 23 as you make the turn into the wind literally exhausted me in a matter of seconds! I had no leg pains was keeping a steady pace ands ready to push myself harder until I turned the corner, the wind was like nothing I experienced before. It took my breath away collapsed my lungs and my legs instantly locked up! I have ran 10 marathons and ran a whole marathon in a head wind but something was so different about this one. It took until little after mile 25 to regain what energy I had to finish! what a memory of I will remember of feeling the most extreme exhaustion at mile 23-25 in my history of marathons!
No last year I PR this same race at 3:24 this year 3:33
I love this race course it was fast and with a perfect downhill pace you could keep! the only complaint I have is there were a few water stations not prepared with anything and so I couldn't stop to drink. need more volunteers and or training to have water cups filled up. This is the only reason I gave you a 4 out of 5 other than that it would of been a 5
I was going to nursing school full time this training season so it was by far difficult at times to get all my runs in for the week but I never missed a long run and had the best friends to train with me!
To stop worrying about the down hill and let your body run without braking to save energy for the end. I have run this twice now and both times I let the down hill take me as I stayed light on my body. I feel when you brake and hold your body back to much trying to stay with in your comfort pace you get depleted far to soon.
go home and soak in the tub and take a nap!
