Awesome!! Snow flurries at the start but temps warmed up as we descended down the mountain. The scenery was gorgeous!!!
PR'd by almost 12 minutes and met my BQ standard by almost 15minutes!!!
The course is gorgeous!! You will want to drive the course the day before or after the race to take pictures. I drove it the day before and took close to 30 pictures and I still failed to capture the true beauty of the course. The grade is gentle. Being from Florida I was concerned about the starting elevation but it was a non-issue.
I live in Florida so the only hills I have to train on are a few bridges. I supplemented my running with strength training and that really helped.
Babystack's Pancakes for your pre- race carbo load. They have awesome pancakes inspired by cupcake flavors.A visit to Red Rock Canyon is an absolute must ( allow about 3-4 hours).Hoover Dam is another impressive sight to see.
Hoover Dam and Red Rock Canyon.Travelled from Florida.
This was my first full marathon. Loved the weather, not like regular desert weather in this season. Everything was well organized starting from race packet pickup. All volunteers were very supportive and friendly. Loved the revel. Would like to do more races in future.
Yes as this was my first and I did a good job. Last 3-4 miles were tough but I enjoyed and very much satisfied. No Boston,
Course was great, loved the scenery. Last few miles were tough for me but may be because it was my first. Would like to do again next year for sure.
Training went well. I included few down hill runs in Red Rock canyon. 22 miles was my distance before this during training.
Do include downhill running in your training if you are going to run revel.
I live here in Vegas only so nothing extra during the race time
All said already
Weather forecast was scary with 32 degree, snow, rain but turned out to be a great race weather. I dresses like onion with many layers. Shuttle driver was lost missed the left turn, we had about extra 10 mile drive.
Yes. My time at Revel Azusa was 3:39:27, did 3;36;08 nicer cushion for BQ . My qaulifying time is 3:40
Loved it. Run aid stations and CHP support was great.
Speed work once a week, weekday tempo run, 2 long runs (10 - 12miles) on the weekend back to back days to get the marathon feeling on the legs without running 18-20+ miles.
carbo load the entire week leading to the race not the last night, no training the entire last week, rest, recover entirely be ready for your big day.
Not much go over your nutrition plans, some socializing.
Thank you for the great event.
One of the best-organized races I've ever done. Awesome course, great volunteers.
Yes! 1:43! No BQ :(
The snow at the start was awesome! Good job arranging that with Mother Nature :)

Practice running downhill!
Checked out the vendor booths, ate some pie!
I loved that there were space blankets for the beginning because it was a bit chilly. I liked having water stations so frequently along with bathrooms if needed and the gels were provided for. The course was perfect and the volunteers were amazing. It was the best race I've ever ran! I'll definitely come back and do this one again. The energy was unmatchable.
I did PR. I ran a half just 3 months back and had focused more on my training and was excited about the slight downhill of this course. I ended up with a PR of over 15 minutes!
The grade was perfect. Not too hard on my body. Today was a perfect running down but would be much harder in the heat.
I was fortunate to train at 6000' and did 2 runs a week (one long and one 3-4 miler) and then cross trained 3 days a week. It worked very well for me. My body rested from running while building strength.
Make sure you pay attention to the weather. You don't want to be left having too many layers or not enough.
Went to the strip, the south outlets, and hung out at the pool.
We stayed in Vegas. Parked as instructed. Everything went smooth. It was really nice to be able to leave the drop bag 15 mins before race start. Kudos to race director for organizing such an Awesome race. The road was smooth!! That goes a long way - in making runners happy! Volunteers were Awesome!!!
No, but I did BQ. I was on course to PR but by mile 20 my quads were toast.
Smooth - Runner Friendly - didn't have to worry about road holes/chunks.
Was using Hanson but life interruptus - did the best I could.
You will love this race - but get your hill training in!!
Vegas Baby! I'm from Texas. We drove - hubby won't fly.
I loved this race! Everything was so well organized such a great value for what was paid! We were looked out for, especially since it was chilly out! They gave us options to stay warm! It was a little confusing at the start line since you just start running but no big deal!
Yes!! I pr'd my half by about 3 1/2 minutes, which has taken me 3 years to do!
Great course! Loved the mainly down grade!
I did small speed workouts during bootcamp but made sure to practice some downhill running on the long runs.
I'm from Vegas so it was nice to do a great race from the comfort of my home city!
Awesome race!!!!
This was one of the best races that I have ever run in terms of organization and runner care!
No, training was limited.
Definitely downhill and fast!
What training? I was recovering from a slight injury.
Definitely run it!
I loved the pie and music afterwards.
I will definitely look into other Revel races!

Wasn't expecting snow at the start. Busses ran smoothly. Parking was easy, Race was downhill as promised. Faster than Canyon City & maybe even St George.
No but I did run my fastest time since 2014.
Downhill but not as punishing as Canyon City. Very Scenic. Weather could be a factor, but was not today.
I run a marathon every 3-4 weeks so my training consists of 3 runs of 14-16 miles & 2-3 short runs weekly , as well as 200+ miles of cycling.
Train on real hills. negative grade on the treadmill won't cut it. Wear Hokas & compression socks to save your knees.
