      Great race to PR

    4. How would you describe the course?

      Very nice -- loved it!!

    5. Tell us about your training.

Don't run that course for training -- training should be more up and downhill mixed.

    6. What advice would you give future runners?

Do this race -- it was a great race at a great time of year!

    2. Describe your race day.

Love the scenery. Love the volunteers. Love the fact that you guys handed out bananas and oranges. I can't run hungry :). The down-hill trail helped so much too!

    3. Did you PR?

I did the St George last week over 10 mpm, 2 hours 20 minutes at the elevation of 5000 ft. I thought I'd do the same. Unpextedly I did better today at 2 hours and 2.29 minutes, 9.21 mpm. I think I set the record in all my runnings. The practice of the whole week after the St George run really helped also.

    4. How would you describe the course?

It's elecated but not too deep. I could control myself. The scenery is gorgeous!!!

    5. Tell us about your training.

I never had any professional training. I just run at least a few times a week at least 3 miles and 9 miles max. This week I tried to aim at picking up the pace and not taking any break at all even almost immediately after the Half in St George. That really set my mind today on a new goal that is never stop throughout the entire run.

    6. What advice would you give future runners?

      Slow down but never stop
Look down and try to accomplish one step at a time when going up hill.
Don't think of the total miles and don't look far ahead. Just try to put all the energy to finish the current mile.
Run one mile at a time and one step at a time.
Don't get excited when passing other runners. They seem slow but that might be their strategy. Excitement drains the energy and fools the mind.
After all enjoy running and treat it like a yoga exercise. Just relax while running. Don't push the mind too hard with constraints and refraints. Let go of all negative thoughts.
Don't ever think of how much left to run. Think of how beatiful the trail is and what a pride to wear that medal at the end.
Don't drink too much water. Just enough as the body needs.

    7. What fun things did you do in the area before or after the race?

I live in Vegas but never gone to Mt. Charleston. I took a bunch of photo and talked with a bunch of strangers. I'm gonna go back to visit soon.

It would be nice to know the subtotals to understand my position better. For example, I ranked 46 over my age group but how many are there? I ranked 318 over all males but how many male runners are there....

Very well organized race. Enjoyed every sec

    3. Did you PR?

      Yes

    4. How would you describe the course?

Fairly easy. A bit of a surprise on the last 2 miles. Ever so slight incline.

    5. Tell us about your training.

I ran 7 miles most days.

    6. What advice would you give future runners?

Come out and enjoy an awesome course. Take s break from the so called rolling hills.

    7. What fun things did you do in the area before or after the race?

      Too tired to do much.

    2. Describe your race day.

Woke up early and fueled up. Shivered at the top of the hill, but warmed up after a few miles. It was really fun to run through my neighborhood at the end!

    3. Did you PR?

Yes, by about 10 seconds, haha!

    4. How would you describe the course?

Beautiful course, easy on the lungs! I thought the "uphill" at the end would be worse.

    5. Tell us about your training.

Training on downhills helped me; I would take the uphills easy and the downhills hard to help prepare me for the course.

    6. What advice would you give future runners?

The biggest downside of this course was the start. It was very crowded for the first 5 or 6 miles, and I added at least a quarter mile to the distance by running around people. If you plan to run at a decent clip, say, under a 10 minute mile, I would recommend trying to be toward the front of the herd at the start.

    7. What fun things did you do in the area before or after the race?

I live in the area, and it was fun to have one of my regular running routes incorporated into the course!

    2. Describe your race day.

Revel Races are the best! And Mt Charleston is the fastest course in the series.

    3. Did you PR?

I did last year but not this year because of a bummed ankle. I'll be back next year to beat my PR!

    4. How would you describe the course?

Not so steep that it hurts but enough to give you an edge and a PR. My favorite course so far in the Revel series. It offers a beautiful combination of desert and mountain views.

    5. Tell us about your training.

Running, including some trail running, speed workout, hill training, hiking and yoga. You have to incorporate downhill running or it will hurt!

    6. What advice would you give future runners?

Dress in layers that you can shed before and during the race. It is usually cold at the start but warms up nicely as you run down the mountain. Bring breakfast with you. You'll have plenty of time to eat it before the start and have a warm drink, coffee, tea... Remain consistent and don't go out too fast even though it's very tempting at the start.

    7. What fun things did you do in the area before or after the race?

We celebrated at the Heart Attack Grill on Fremont St. And you'd better follow doctor's orders and finish up that bypass burger if you don't want to get paddled by a nurse in public. Lots of fun!
And enlist your friends to run with you!

    4. How would you describe the course?

Perfect (except that stupid out and back at mile 23).

    5. Tell us about your training.

      Long downhill training runs.

    2. Describe your race day.

Man this by far an amazing course to run. The views are beautiful and breathtaking.

    3. Did you PR?

Yes I did or from last years race by 7 minutes.

    4. How would you describe the course?

      Awesome.

    5. Tell us about your training.

Not much raining went into me doing the Revel half marathon honestly.

    6. What advice would you give future runners?

Just make sure to find places where there is downhill running available so that you can get use to 8 miles of down hill

    7. What fun things did you do in the area before or after the race?

Beers and burgers is my always go to meal after a race.

Windy(tailwind) the aid stations sparse with volunteers . More volunteers needed to hand out water if it would have been warmer. Great race
