    2. Describe your race day.

Was a great race day. The weather was perfect and the race was well managed.

    3. Did you PR?

I dropped 8 min from my last PR and negative split the race.

    4. How would you describe the course?

The downhill grade was perfect. It wasn't too steep, but was still an extremely fast course.

    5. Tell us about your training.

I wish I would have trained for altitude a bit more. That would have helped me from the start.

    6. What advice would you give future runners?

The course is fast. Prep for hills at the end of your run, though there aren't many hills in the course.

    7. What fun things did you do in the area before or after the race?

I cam in from California by car. Hung out on the strip after the race.

      Pretty much non existent.

    6. What advice would you give future runners?

Train don't give up on that aspect

    2. Describe your race day.

The snow flurries for the first mile were a lot of fun to run in and a beautiful day after that. They did a great job of making sure everything ran smoothly and that runners had the right of way on all the intersection crossings. Overall, a wonderful race.

    3. Did you PR?

Yes a 13 minute PR and a BQ!

    4. How would you describe the course?

So fast. The prettiest road race I've ever done through the valley.

    2. Describe your race day.

Light breezes, cool day, plenty of porta potties, start of race on time, light snow the first 2 miles, awesome aid stations, volunteers, emt's and finish race celebrations.
At age 65 I was aiming for a sub 4hr10min BQ and it was fun chasing that goal.
A favorite memory was the snow and scenery and the overall challenge.

    3. Did you PR?

No. At age 65 my PR days are in the rear view mirror. I was 37 minutes off my PR back in 1994.
I did qualify for Boston by 6min13sec. That was my goal.

    4. How would you describe the course?

      Scenery, absolutely awesome.
I enjoyed the elevation grade loss throughout the course despite my 5 knee surgeries and needing ice and help walking after the marathon.
Elevation has been friendly to me at this race and other Revel marathons I have run.

    5. Tell us about your training.

I run about 35 miles weekly and do extra downhill training before the Revel marathons. By holding the pace down early I was able to hang on all 26.2 although my pace did suffer over the last 6.2 miles.
Training advice would be typical usual training but add extra downhill work.

    6. What advice would you give future runners?

Run some hard fast half marathons on downhill courses leading up to a Revel Marathon.
Wear some warm clothes before the race because at 7500 feet elevation at 5 in the morning it can be quite cold before the start of the run.

    7. What fun things did you do in the area before or after the race?

Gambled in Vegas, visited Hoover Dam, drank at a nice brewery, ate at local restaurants and met many nice people.
      I travelled from New Hampshire.

    2. Describe your race day.

This was the best race I've participated in. So we'll organized and worth the entry fee! Tons of support and updates. And great swag and food at the end. I was worried about how may participants there were but everything was well spaced out and I love having so many other runners to motivate me.

    3. Did you PR?

Yes! The pacers were a huge help and it was a great course to gain a little extra speed. I beat my last PR by about minutes.

    4. How would you describe the course?

Great easy downhill grade, not too hard on the knees at all. Not as high in the "mountain" as I expected but still very nice views and elevation and cold were not a problem.

    5. Tell us about your training.

This wasn't my first half and I am focus9ng on strength now so I didn't spend as much time running prior. Just about 2x a week, one short one and one 7-10mile run a week for aboit 6 weeks. It didn't hinder me at all this was a great course for minimal training.

    6. What advice would you give future runners?

Dress in layers and don't overthink the weather.

    7. What fun things did you do in the area before or after the race?

Tons of great sponsored fun at the end and lots of shopping/dining near by.

    2. Describe your race day.

I came to Mt Charleston to BQ. I missed it by only 42 seconds, but PRd by 18 minutes. Beautiful, fast course! Well organized as always for all of the Revel races I've done. Good freebies, great race t shirt. Looking forward to Big Cottonwood in September!

    3. Did you PR?

      Yes. 18 minutes.

    4. What advice would you give future runners?

Take the course miles 1-21 and 22-26. Almost entirely gradual downhill with a couple tiny hills and flats along the way. Snowing at the top, warm at the bottom!

    5. What fun things did you do in the area before or after the race?

Stayed a few blocks from Centennial Hills Park at an Airbnb property.

    2. Describe your race day.

First time our entire family ran a race together...Mom & Dad and 4 children. Nothing like training and doing a race to bring together the family. Great memorable moment.

    3. How would you describe the course?

The first 8 miles is a consistent, perfect, running downhill grade. Desert beauty with the Las Vegas strip in the distance. Last 5 miles are still mostly downhill but in more an urban setting. Great road closure support (thanks NHP), great volunteer support at aide stations, great food/drink support. A well planned event by Revel that I'm sure will grow in years to come as more people hear about it.

    4. What fun things did you do in the area before or after the race?

Bodies exhibit at Luxor was cool. Outlet shopping. Great food. Observatory Wheel is pricy but really cool. Bellagio Water Fountains are a must freebie.

    2. Describe your race day.

Loved this race! Started with the packet pick-up. Great swag and picture booths. Day of race I loved the charter buses, blankets and warm gear. Awesome medal, and after race festivities. Loved memories with friends!

    3. Did you PR?

Yes, by 3 minutes. I ran with a pacer and he was awesome!!

    4. How would you describe the course?

Not as beautiful or down hill as you described-but I'm a Utah girl with killer downhill mountains, nothing compares!! Wish there was Vaseline and bengay at aid stations

    5. Tell us about your training.

I run year round 20-25 miles a week. I work my miles up to 13 two weeks before a race. Training advice is get miles on your legs over pace!! If you have miles under you the pace comes especially on race day!

    6. What advice would you give future runners?

Run this race! Don't visualize a downhill run. Bring warm gear and rain gear to ditch.

    7. What fun things did you do in the area before or after the race?

Shop, gamble and EAT!! We came from Utah

    2. Describe your race day.

It went well. It was a well-organized race. Your attention to details (giving us gloves, beanies, blanket, etc.) is very appreciated. Suggestions for race organizer: put a volunteer or course organizer at the turn at the major intersection after mile 25. There were cops there to direct traffic but runners could not see where the course continued, so we made the wrong turn, and a cop yelled at us to "follow the course!" Follow what when we couldn't see what ahead since the course turned left and there was no arrow pointing which way to go, and there were so many cars on the road--it was hard to see the cones on the other side? Also, more porta potties at the start line, please.

    3. Did you PR?

By 9 seconds, but that doesn't count. No BQ yet.

    4. How would you describe the course?

The downhill is very gentle to a point that it seems like a flat course. And there are hills. Not really an "easy" course as one would expect after looking at the elevation chart.

    5. Tell us about your training.

Average about 55 miles per week.

    6. What advice would you give future runners?

Dress in layers. It's really cold at the start line. Don't litter the course. It breaks my heart seeing runners throwing trash into the bushes/road side. If you want to discard your trash, put it at the mile makers or water stations or somewhere visible so the clean up crew can see it. The race organizers should emphasize this to runners.

    7. What fun things did you do in the area before or after the race?

Vegas is not my favorite city, but that's just me. The whole city is a giant ashtray, and I have asthma. :(
