    5/5 Stars

  2. Describe your race day.

Revel Team - I do a lot of endurance racing across multiple disciplines. Point to Point races are always challenged with getting participants to the right place and making their day enjoyable. You have done an incredible job communicating pre-race, race day, and post race logistics. I never felt I didn't know what was going on and during the event, everything went extremely smooth. You did an excellent job!!

  3. Did you PR?

Yes I beat a five year old PR by 14 minutes. I specifically chose the revel race to make sure I had a qualifying time for Boston that would withstand the additional need to not only make the Boston Standard but also the participation limits that require Participants to beat their standard by 2-4 minutes.

  4. How would you describe the course?

Your Canyon City course is very unique. The first half elevation loss is extreme and really puts pressure on your quads and calves for the second half completion. Although this course if fast it is also the most challenging course I have completed.

  5. Tell us about your training.

I train six days per week. Four workouts are focused, two workouts are recovery. Focused workouts included one hill repeat workout, one run at marathon pace, and one long run at 30 seconds slower then marathon pace. My training also included weight training for the first 10 weeks of my 20 week training plan.

Definitely need to include hill repeat workouts for this race and also work on efficient downhill running that does not force breaking with your knees or feet.

  6. What advice would you give future runners?

The advice provided on your web site for down hill running is very well stated. Runners should be ready for tired legs for the hills on the second half of the race.
