Describe your race day.
Great day shared with 35+ other LA Leggers. Loved the downhill. Good organization and enjoyed that the course was not crowded.
-
Did you PR?
5 minute PR, 24 minute BQ.
-
How would you describe the course?
Huge of very fast downhill offset by 4 large hills. Very fast overall. Scenery running down the canyon is great.

Tell us about your training.
I used a customized 16 week training program from McMillan Running coupled with 3 training runs on the course (16, 19 and 22 miles) with group from LA Leggers. Coach Larry allowed us to use his support on course during training runs which was a definite plus. I definitely recommend that others train on the course to become acclimated to steep downhill and to the hills that don't clearly show on the course map.

What advice would you give future runners?
Run comfortably allowing the downhill to propel without over striding. Also, save something for the uphills between 14 and 21.
-
What fun things did you do in the area before or after the race?
Mostly just hanging out with friends and cheering for them.
We live in Sherman Oaks.
