    2. Describe your race day.

Perfect. Weather was perfect. Course was perfect. Fuel and water stops perfect. Wish the pacers were there as promised, but it still worked out by asking other runners their goals.

    3. Did you PR?

YES! By close to four minutes. Also a Boston qualifier for me!

    4. How would you describe the course?

Not as easy as I thought, but also not as much a downhill as I feared. It really was perfect! Didn't expect those few hills!

    5. Tell us about your training.

Trained hard with the Jack Daniels' RunSMART program. Proud of how hard I trained!

    6. What advice would you give future runners?

Expect ANYTHING at the start line - snow, rain, hail...but expect also a memorable racing experience!

    7. What fun things did you do in the area before or after the race?

Afterwards I enjoyed doing absolutely nothing but having a celebratory drink...and the pool at the Marriott hotel and Mother's Day brunch the next morning.

    2. Describe your race day.

This was one of the best races I have done. The execution of the buses, course and event area was perfect. Truly enjoyed it all and will be back next year.

    3. Did you PR?

Yes! My friend and I both had PR's!!!

    4. How would you describe the course?

Beautiful course and just challenging enough!

    5. Tell us about your training.

I train 6 days a week with Orange Theory. They have a decline in their treadmills which really helped me get prepared for this race.

    6. What advice would you give future runners?

Practice running downhill a lot. You will use different muscles and they need to be strong.

    7. What fun things did you do in the area before or after the race?

After the race the food and fun were great! Loved the pie and being able to shop! Being from Las Vegas, I was proud to be at such a great event.

    2. Describe your race day.

Overall organization was an A-Plus. The course was an a-minus the loop at Mile 5 slows you down and the hill on the overpass at 25 was cruel. The 325 Pacer never showed up. Shirt and metal outstanding. Mile markers and water stations were spot-on. Overall my experience was great. The resort at mt. Charleston was very convenient.

    3. Did you PR?

Bq but missed PR by 4 seconds

    4. How would you describe the course?

Course is an A minus only because of the hill at Mi

    5. Tell us about your training.

Training went great 55 miles a week

    6. What advice would you give future runners?

Don't go out too fast in the first half and watch out for the hill at Mile 25

    2. Describe your race day.

getting my packet was very chill, and the start line was nice with water and the inclusion of the blanket things was so nice as it was snowing. I live in the area and it can be hot or cold the weather was as good as it could get for a race

    3. Did you PR?

i think i did the only other marathon is the revel Big Cottonwood so there was only down hill for me with the full distance :)

    4. How would you describe the course?

      down !! so much down

    5. Tell us about your training.

well I am a medical student that is starting residency and my training partner is a physician as well so we took a minimalist approach due to time and life constraints we did a few long runs on the course which was key and just counted on our base of about 25-30 miles a week ish :)

    6. What advice would you give future runners?

never think that a downhill race will be easy ... never ever. and respect the course with your garbage and glues ect people do actually live in the area you are visiting and dont wanna see plastic and garbage along the road, its still a place where the wild things try and live as well!!!

    7. What fun things did you do in the area before or after the race?

I trained on the amazing trails that the city of Las Vegas has to offer! Vegas is running heaven. Thanks for bringing Revel to Nevada, hope you guys come back next year !

    2. Describe your race day.

This was one of the best half marathon courses I've run. It was an easier, downhill course with lots of support. The aid stations were plentiful with awesome volunteers that cheered you by name and had water and electrolyte drinks always ready. The officers directing traffic were courteous and friendly. The finish line amenities were amazing - fruit, bagels, pretzels, pizza, pumpkin pie?! Finally, the announcer MADE this race. To have his level of energy at 5+ hours in really makes a difference for those people that battled for every single mile. I finished the half at 2:47 and my sister finished the full at 5:03 and he gave us both the same enthusiastic, personal welcome in. Great experience!

    3. Did you PR?

I did not set a PR with regard to my half marathon finish time. This was my first long distance race pregnant, though, and to be able to complete 13.1 miles at 6 1/2 months pregnant is a big WIN for me. The plentiful aid stations and support by volunteers gave me security that if I did need help it would be available.

    4. How would you describe the course?

This was a scenic course with a nice downhill, especially at the beginning. There were a few small uphills thrown in just to keep in interesting. There were also plenty of spectators, especially the last two miles, to keep the energy going.

    5. Tell us about your training.

I trained for 10 weeks, gradually building my long runs up to 12 miles. I had a solid running base of 3-5 miles 3 times a week before starting training. I wouldn't change a thing - I'm just happy I'm still able to run this far into my pregnancy.

    6. What advice would you give future runners?

Consistency is key! Don't skimp on your long runs and don't over train. Also, if you get a chance to run part of the course during training, absolutely do it. It helps know what to expect on race day. Also, don't try something new on race day - figure out nutrition, hydration, clothing and music before the big day.

    7. What fun things did you do in the area before or after the race?

I waited to cheer my sister through the full marathon after I finished the half.

    2. Describe your race day.

Memorable - easy bus loading, snowing at the start, beautiful course, finish line announcer's enthusiasm.

    3. Did you PR?

Yes I did PR - by 8 minutes. Didn't make Boston.

    4. How would you describe the course?

The start line area was the most spectacular - standing there at the lodge at basically the base of the mountains and there was still snow on them. Then to watch the storm clouds move in with more snow. At the very very beginning, the first tiny little uphill I had a hard time catching my breath and I hoped that the rest of the race wouldn't be terrible. But then the downhill started and it was just gorgeous. Through the woods and the rustle of the breeze and as we ran lower, the scenery was still great - the rock formations are incredible. The grade was no big deal at all - it certainly helped my finish time overall but it was not awful.

    5. Tell us about your training.

Rather than run just downhill from home on my long runs, I ran up first and that seemed to work out well. I would actually suggest to people to run close to as much uphill as you do downhill because once you come out of the downhill on the course, the last 7ish miles feel flat, without much help from downhill, so you'll need legs to finish.

    6. What advice would you give future runners?

I stayed near the finish line area and it was very easy to find. Have fun on the course. Don't miss any meals or snacks the day before and drink lots of water. I saw a lot of people at the start throw off their coats, etc... and it was still really cold so don't feel pressured to discard any clothing right at the beginning. If it had been any warmer in the morning at the start, this would have been a completely different race because once we got into town it warmed up.

    7. What fun things did you do in the area before or after the race?

I just relaxed at the hotel before and after. I traveled in from Arizona.

    2. Describe your race day.

Great course! The buses were great! I loved that we were able to stay on the warm buses equipped with a bathroom prior to the start. Being top 3 female finisher was the icing on the cake.

    3. Did you PR?

No pr but still a great time. I had to make a pit stop. Everyone else on team "run like hell" hit a pr and all of them qualified for Boston.

    4. How would you describe the course?

      Gentle down hill!

    2. Describe your race day.

For my first Half Marathon, everything about the race is memorable.
-The long line of buses taking us up to the start - with a super nice driver, and they let us stay on the warm bus at the start line for awhile.
-All the volunteers were pleasant, smiling, informative
-The course was amazingly beautiful. The weather was perfect, a cool start that slowly warmed as you descend into the valley.
-The beanie was a nice touch for the cool start.
-Crossing the finish line with a friend with goal "to just finish". Sometimes its not about the time, but the fact that you cross the finish line.
The course was partitioned off beautifully - we never once had to cross an intersection that wasn't either closed off or directed by the Las Vegas Police Dept. An extremely well defined and controlled course.
I would HIGHLY recommend this race to everyone.
Loved all the photographers on the course and can't wait to see the pictures!
Loved the ability to have texts sent showing where we were on course and what projected times were.
Loved all the finish line goodies!
      The medal was REALLY nice!
When can we sign up for next years race? :-)

    3. Did you PR?

Well it was my First Half Marathon so YES, hahaha.

    4. How would you describe the course?

The scenery was amazing. The cloud cover made for unique skies contrasting with the snowy mountain peaks.

    5. Tell us about your training.

I would tell others to make sure you train with a long downhill stretch included with your regular training.

    6. What fun things did you do in the area before or after the race?

I live in Las Vegas so nothing out of the ordinary. We did have a post race BBQ and Derby day celebrations.
