    2. Describe your race day.

I really liked this race! It was a little early but extremely well organized. Lots of good swag. Great food at the finish. Lots of fun!!

    3. Did you PR?

      Yes I did!!

    4. How would you describe the course?

Well laid out. Secure and well monitored. Scenery ok. Grade was good!

    5. Tell us about your training.

Don't wear 4 inch heels that hurt your feet and give you blisters the night before. But that may be sort of obvious.

    6. What advice would you give future runners?

Wear warm clothes you can toss.

    2. Describe your race day.

Loved it!!! Well organized!!! Please do it again! The only thing I would say is use paper ups for aid stations. You need to squish the cups and make a spout! Volunteers have to stand in front of the tables. Get more aid station volunteers! Boy Scouts!

    3. Did you PR?

I have just come back doing marathons after having cancer, so yeah! I am here and running! Personal PR for me. I thought I would take 2 hr. and 30 minutes. I was 1 hr 56 min. Yay!!!

    4. How would you describe the course?

Loved it. It would be cool to be more up on the mountain!., but it was awesome! Perfect, easy course!

    5. Tell us about your training.

I train for 18 weeks. Typical training. Hills, mile repeats, long slow distance......you know! I have been doing this for a long time!!!

    6. What advice would you give future runners?

TRAIN!! I can't believe how many people don't!!! You are just asking for injury!! Hydrate!! If this was a normal Vegas day it would of been hot at the end!

    7. What fun things did you do in the area before or after the race?

Well, I live here...so not much! Going home with the family! I did love the photo opportunities at the end!!! So fun!!!

    2. Describe your race day.

Loved that it snowed the first 2 miles. The gradual down grade was perfect, enough to pull but not so much that each step caused you to break.

    3. Did you PR?

Yes PR for me yahoo. Next year BQ thanks.

    4. How would you describe the course?

Great course thanks for the run.

    5. Tell us about your training.

Not as healthy as I wanted so training was not optimal.

    6. What advice would you give future runners?

      Work on downhill training.

    7. What fun things did you do in the area before or after the race?

In one day and back home the next. Because of Mother's Day. Maybe next time.

      The bus rides were fun!

    3. Did you PR?

      Yes!

    4. How would you describe the course?

      It was perfect!

    5. Tell us about your training.

We trained on our long runs in the mountains every week. I loved the easy, downhill run!

    6. What advice would you give future runners?

Don't try and slow yourself down on the downhill.

    7. What fun things did you do in the area before or after the race?

I'm a local. We went to babystacks for breakfast after!

    2. Describe your race day.

Great to run in my neighborhood, and to have my friends cheer me on at the finish!

    3. Did you PR?

Don't usually run "for time", just the fun of accomplishment, at the end of the day!

    4. How would you describe the course?

Course was great, and even the last bit, up the Elkhorn bridge...

    5. Tell us about your training.

Even if you can't get out on the road, have a few alternatives and mix it up!!

    6. What advice would you give future runners?

Know where the course starts, and how to get there! As luck would have it, I was sitting in the front of the bus and was able to tell the driver that he missed the turn-off for Kyle Canyon!! We had to make a creative U-turn, but we got in line for the pilot car, and made it to the start!!!

    7. What fun things did you do in the area before or after the race?

I live here, so the fun never ends!!

    2. Describe your race day.

My race day started off in such a bad way, I didn't think this was going to even be doable. I slept only 3.5 hours the night before, and had such a problem with my stomach the day before the race I was concerned I was going to be okay. Then race morning came, and my stomach was still acting up and I didn't know if I would keep it down. My knee I had injured on Thursday flared up at the race start, but I was determined to do the race no matter the outcome.

    3. Did you PR?

I did. Previously my PR was 2:03:29 but today I finished at 2:00:31. That means I beat my PR record by about 3 minutes!

    4. How would you describe the course?

It's a gradual downhill slope for the majority of the course mixed with some flat areas. There is a small incline (probably about 500 feet) going into mile 11, and another small, small incline towards the end as well. I didn't pay much attention to the scenery since I'm a Vegas resident. It's a lot of desert landscape, but the mountain you start on is pretty.

    5. Tell us about your training.

I wouldn't recommend my method of training to anyone. LOL! I focus on strength training, mixed with a few HIIT sessions, and plyometrics. I don't enjoy long runs because I consider myself slow, so I didn't run for this half marathon. I would recommend someone to train on hills to practice running the downhill slopes and build lung endurance on the uphill if they were going to be running a downhill race. Downhill will destroy your quads.

    6. What advice would you give future runners?

I wore Nike anti-blister socks for the first time today to see if I could avoid the 2+ blisters I get without fail at every marathon. I'm happy to announce I am blister free today! Also, I suggest actually taking the gloves up to the top where you will start your race because even though it feels okay at the finish, it is significantly cooler at the start.

    7. What fun things did you do in the area before or after the race?

I made sure to pick up my race results and get a professional photo in front of the revel background to celebrate my PR. The professional photographer is there and will take your photo.. Which you get for free... So why not?

Also, I loved the pizza at the end of the race and the cooling towel!

    2. Describe your race day.

The weather was perfect and everything was very organized!

    3. Did you PR?

Nope, but this was the fastest I've ran this year!

    4. How would you describe the course?

Slow decent to a flat ground through the beautiful desert! No problems with the elevation.

    5. Tell us about your training.

Actually train! And incorporate some downhill long runs!

    6. What advice would you give future runners?

Dress warm, but you don't need many layers.

    7. What fun things did you do in the area before or after the race?

Shopping at the Las Vegas Premium Outlets.

    2. Describe your race day.

I came hoping to do a 4:40:00 in the marathon in order to have a BQ qualifier. I wish there had been a 4:40 pacer.

    3. Did you PR?

      No.

    4. How would you describe the course?

      Interesting, with unexpected uphills.

    5. Tell us about your training.

I've done 4 marathons this year: Redding, Napa, Pony Express, and Mt. Charleston. I'm registered for several more in California.

    6. What advice would you give future runners?

If I come next year, I will wear Mizuno Wave Universe 5 shoes instead of Altra One, version 2.5. The Altras were fine, bit the Mizunos may have been more comfortable for the course.

    7. What fun things did you do in the area before or after the race?

I talked to a runner on the bus from Las Vegas who was running his first road marathon and a spectator after the race, and ate some of everything I could find except the rolls, which were in closed plastic bags. I came from Roseville, California.

    2. Describe your race day.

Excellent course and outstanding race! I appreciated the attention to details such as the beanies and gloves down to the printed results after the race. Revel did it right. I am definitely putting this race on my calendar for next year.

    3. Did you PR?

No. Missed my PR by 7 min. 12 sec. Absolutely qualified for Boston.

    4. How would you describe the course?

The downhill is the perfect grade. The course just pulls you along. Not so steep that you need to waste energy by braking. The first 13 miles are scenic, lots of cliffs and bluffs to look at.

    5. Tell us about your training.

I did nothing specific to train for this race, but if I did, I would do some serious downhill runs. My quads were toast by mile 20. My own fault though and I'll know what to do next year in terms of training.

    6. What advice would you give future runners?

Do some downhill training runs. Prepare to layer and shed clothes as you descend and temperatures climb.

    7. What fun things did you do in the area before or after the race?

Didn't do anything more fun than go out for dinner before the race. Jumped in the car and drove straight home after the race. I travelled from Victorville, CA.

Very well organised event, lucky with the cool weather day too!

    3. Did you PR?

3 mins off my previous PR

    4. How would you describe the course?

Nice gradual decline, just right. Tougher on last few miles with less decline
