    2. Describe your race day.

      Everything about Revel Mt. Charleston was won-der-ful! From the moment I registered until finish line festivities, I was very pleased with my race expereince.

    3. Did you PR?

      I certainly set a PR! I PR'd by 4:00 and yes, I met the qualification mark for a BQ, but not sure if i'll be accepted into the race because I only beat my qualification time by 2:45.

    4. How would you describe the course?

      Beautiful and fast!

    5. Tell us about your training.

      I trained for 16 weeks (4x4 week cycles) with 3 weeks build, 1 week recovery in each cycle. I practiced downhill on two of my long runs.

    6. What advice would you give future runners?

      PRACTICE DOWNHILL! Strength train the small muslces.

    7. What fun things did you do in the area before or after the race?

      It's Vegas, can't write about that.

      it was a cold start, everything was very organized....except the start - mat vs. start line was a bit confusing.

    3. Did you PR?

      yes!

    4. How would you describe the course?

      scenery was amazing and the course was perfect except the uphill being towards the end of the race.

      Yes, beat my PR by 2 minutes

      Very good

      20 to 25 miles per week, with some downhill training

    6. What advice would you give future runners?

      Don't give up...mind, body and soul/sole

      Traveled from Casper WY, 3rd Revel race

      Goodness I love @runrevel races. I highly recommend them and here are 5 reasons why.
      1. Great swag! The women's tanks were well cut, we got socks in our bags and they let us personalize our bibs.
      2. Beautiful courses. The landscape for the #RevelMtCharleston was otherworldly with a gorgeous desert

    3. Did you PR?

      No BUT I totally will next year!

    4. How would you describe the course?

      Gorgeous desert landscape!

    5. Tell us about your training.

      I was definitely under trained but I am determined to come back next year stronger than ever!

    6. What advice would you give future runners?

      Train the down hill!

    7. What fun things did you do in the area before or after the race?

      We stayed at the Station Santa Fe Casino and we went to the movies after the race. Perfect relaxing activity!

      I thought everything was well done. I don't have any complaints. The only thing that I was disappointed in was the 1:40 pacer. He went out WAY too fast.

    3. Did you PR?

      Yes. This was only my third half marathon, but it was definitely a PR. I could not imagine a better course for a PR. You guys even had a perfect tail wind for the last five miles.

    4. How would you describe the course?

      The course was great. The first eight miles were a perfect grade of downhill (not too steep). The only thing I noticed was that the hill from mile ten to eleven was not on any of the elevation charts I ever saw. It was not a steep hill, but I was definitely surprised to hit it.

    5. Tell us about your training.

      Downhill treadmill training worked great. I appreciated the advice to do downhill training no more than every 10-14 days.

    6. What advice would you give future runners?

      Watch out for the cones. The beginning of the race was a bit too crowded for the 3/4 of a lane that was marked off. I ended up running into a cone and falling over. This was partly due to the crowd, but also the sun which was rising right in front of us.

    7. What fun things did you do in the area before or after the race?

      I was in town for work and did not have much free time.

      Awesome! The wind was behind us!!!!

    3. Did you PR?

      I did!!!!!!!! Last year, 2:31. This year, 2:09.

    4. How would you describe the course?

      So beautiful and fast!!!! I love downhill.

    5. Tell us about your training.

      Orangetheory, Las Vegas Athletic Club (Brian Catanio). Running all over the place! I will run more next year....not more but longer. Run long distances!!!!!

    6. What advice would you give future runners?

      I am in no position to give any advice since I am old and slow!!!! Just enjoy the course!

    7. What fun things did you do in the area before or after the race?

      I live here!

      How cold and beautiful it was.

    3. Did you PR?

      I did by about 3 minutes

    4. How would you describe the course?

      I liked how open it was and that it didn't feel crowded exceptformaybe the first mile or two. The course was really pretty. The traffic control was great and you never felt in danger of a car hitting you. I would recommend more aid stations though. There didn't seem to be many at spots where really needed like the back half of the race

    5. Tell us about your training.

      I race triathlon so didn't train specifically for this race. I might add in some hills if I want to do the marathon.

    6. What advice would you give future runners?

      Bring warm layers! I didn't bring enough.

    7. What fun things did you do in the area before or after the race?

      Ate pie. Couldn't find the sign/step repeat to take pictures after. Went to the strip after and just hung at our pool. Came from So Cal so didn't spend much time in LV

    2. Describe your race day.

      Great day. Chilly start, but otherwise great. Race was great, fast. Wonderful views coming down the mountain.

    3. Did you PR?

      Yes, I PR'd by 5 minutes to finally break 1.45 in the half! (Came in at 1.42.05)

    4. How would you describe the course?

      Half was a more gentle grade than I had anticipated.

    5. Tell us about your training.

      I didn't include much downhill training, and am paying for that still a few days later!

    6. What advice would you give future runners?

      Train on the downhill, make sure you recover correctly. My hotel didn't have baths, so no ice bath for me!

    7. What fun things did you do in the area before or after the race?

      Lots of eating! And outlet shopping.
