The most memorable parts of the course was miles 12-14 when we ran through a cloud! It was an eerie feeling and a really cool experience. The scenery during the first 20miles was awesome.
This was my first full so yes, by default I did PR! I wanted to do sub 4:30 and I bested my goal by almost 6min!
My only complaint would be the finish flats thru the city. Running alongside the narrow bike lane with traffic in both directions really made the ending more difficult. The only other gripe would be the hill on mile 21 or 22-
I’ve been training all year but I made up my mind to do this full in May. I did a lot of downhill and uphill each weekend. My last long run was a uphill downhill 20- that was on, Thursday the 27th of Sept. what I would do differently is give myself more recovery time on my legs- they were incredibly sore hitting mile 15.
Invest in good quality shoes- don’t cheap out. Consult with a podiatrist and chiropractor frequently during your training! Having medical advice along with good nutrition is the only thing that got me from running 1/2’s to a full. Carb load 2 days before your race not the night before. Your body will be using so much energy to digest your big meal so save all the energy you can. Cut out breads, oats, sugar and grain- moderate your fruit intake 2 weeks before your race and you’ll be surprised how much extra weight you’ll lose- I was 8lbs lighter for this race and it made a huge difference.
My wife and I traveled from Bakersfield. We ate out at a few places in San Bernardino and watched a movie Friday night.
I’ll be back next year!!
Awesome display of organization! Outstanding course!
Yes, by almost 7 minutes on half course.
Awesome. Little bit steeper than I expected, but doable without stressing legs and knees too much. Weather was perfect and it was awesome seeing the fog/clouds then running thru them.
normal half marathon training with some downhill. Next time, I will do longer runs on downhills!
Sign up for a Revel! Awesome experience!
Met up with my running family in finish area, enjoyed a beer and slice of pizza!. Then out to breakfast with my wife.
Borderline perfect. This race should become your biggest draw. The non school bus was great especially the on board potty that saved standing in line at the top.
No, but I did run just 27 seconds over my new Boston qualifying time and my first negative split after 28 marathons.
Perfect...cool and rolling down for the first half and only a single roller in the entire second half. I hope the clouds in the second half are a regular feature of the race!
I ran three Revels this year so I felt well prepared for the downhill challenge.
Keep pounding the downhill in prep or be prepared to be crippled for a couple of days.
Came in from Utah and visited the Mission Inn in Riverside for a pre race dinner. It is a converted monastery with great food and a Jazz combo playing in the dining room. Great time.
This one is the best yet.
This one is the best Revel yet!!!
Got 2020 BQ minus 7 min
No
Challenging first 9 miles, but after that super fast!

This was my first Revel (1/2marathon) Very organized from expo to the finish. The race course was overcast and cloudy. It was perfect. The incline was gradual and the support was great!Everyone was so cheery especially the lady who got on the bus and gave us instructions! The goody bag had gloves and blanket that was so helpful!
Finished! Happy!
I was on leave for 2 years due to injury...and came back with only min training. only ran 8 miles prior...so I was not prepared. I know if i would have trained, I would have PR with this amazing race.
walked through Redland center town! had dinner.
Car control was good, but a few cars were not heard coming up.
Best marathon race ever! My 3rd race and enjoy every aspect of it. From the planning, organization, execution, support, over-all experience. Stress-free race and beautiful routes. Please bring it back next year!
I did PR by 6 minutes. Did not BQ cause the times changed recently. But I had an amazing time.
Scenic, espectacular, super fast!!
I had a mediocre training to be honest. I had a few downhill sessions but not consistent. I will kill this next year.
Train, train, and train down hills. Race is very well supported. No need to bring extra fuel/water. Tie you shoes from the top to prevent sliding forward and loosing nails.
Food, support, cold towels, medal, pictures!
Loved the convenience of it. Arrived at parking, waited in organized line, boarded the bus, arrived at our destination without any worries.
No and no, but loved the downhill. Had revived better or in my younger years.
Loved the downhill. Thought it would be more if a trail than a highway, but the Riad accounted for our fast time.
I belong to running clubs so train all the time.
Only suggestion is to drop us off exactly where we were picked up because everyone couldn’t locate car right away.
The morning was quite chilly, when we started the run it was time to start pulling off layers. What a fantastic day it turned out to be, blue sky on top with a beautiful forest sounding all, as I drop down in into the marshmallow down below ( heavy fog) what a beautiful view we all had!
Close! If it wasn’t for the the last 10 miles of server leg cramps I would have qualified for Bq. Just have to get back out here again! Time of 4:15 age 61 still not to bad.
Amazing
Breathtaking!!
Train hard and distants
