5/5 Stars
Everything was seamless from the parking tothe bus ride to the drop bag pickup and shuttle post race. The frequent aid stations and porta-potties were excellent. Plenty of porta-potties pre-race, no wait
PR by a bit over 10 minutes. Biggest thing was I easily broke my 2 hour goal in the half for the first time
Loved the downhill, gentle slopes, not too steep. Missed the downhill the last 3 miles!
Train on hills, up and down. Feel this prepares me for anything.
Thanks for the gloves and pre-race blanket. Didn’t anticipate the cold. For the half wore long sleeved tee, would probably been ok with a short sleeve. Wore running capris. Stayed in a motel close by-make reservations early
Excellent experience, will probably do it again next year with more family members
Great race
4/5 Stars
Enjoyed the race overall. Packet pick up race morning was a nightmare. The parking area was huge and there were no instructions where the pick up location was. It took me 20minutes of walking around to find a girl standing on a corner with a few boxes. No sign. No lights. Poorly thought out.
No PR. About 12 minutes off. Not trying to BQ.
First 20 miles were beautiful with a very nice easy downhill grade. Last 6 miles were mostl flat and definitely not scenic.
20-25 miles/week trailrunning
Carry your own fuel. Most of the aid stations didn’t have any.
None
Awesome weather, incredibly scenic course. Well organized. Fun atmosphere at the finish line. Race busses offered from big bear and Redlands, so you have a choice of two different towns to explore.
Yes by 9 minutes
Scenic, all downhill with the exception of two small rolling hills. Waterfalls, aspen groves, and a lot of pine trees. Very organized.
Stay in big bear! Beautiful small mountain town
Great race day course with lots of water stations. The weather was perfect and the swag was outstanding. Thank you for the oranges and bananas on the race course. Everyone was so friendly and encouraging. This may be my favorite race! See you next year
Yes. My PR was 2 minutes faster/mile.
The course was fast. The elevation perfect. The scenery was outstanding.

Be ready for a PR.
Enjoyed the post race with pizza, chocolate milk, cold towels, water, bananas, etc. Thank you! I am local and traveled from Highland.
My only request would be to hold traffic better coming down the hill. It got crowded on the right side of the road with runners passing each other and cars coming from behind. Thank you.
Thank you for a well organized race.
Very organized on the bus pickup, gear drop-off and aid-stations were fully stacked. Most beautiful course on the first 3/4 of the race.
No, but happy with my finish time.
Fast and scenic.
I trained a lot of downhill intervals and it showed the training worked.
Train both uphills and downhills, as well as flats as the last few miles are basic all flat.
Had a nice meal near the packet pick-up. The olive and citrus restaurant is fantastic.
Very well organized, beautiful scenery, great swag. This was my first Revel, but I can’t wait to do more.
No, but I also didn’t train for this half due to health issues the past several months. This was a “for fun only” race. Just to myself back out there running. I had no time expectations. That being said, I did better than I expected. Only 3 minutes away from a PR!
The course was beautiful, and the race went by fast.
Unfortunately I wasn’t really able to train because of unexpected health issues. I was only able to incorporate 2 downhill, longish runs. I didn’t want to defer, so I just did it!
Do a lot of downhill training. I’m very sore. More sore than I am after a full marathon. Totally worth it though.
I spent time with family in Lake Arrowhead.
Revel is a class act. Great race policies, great swag and great locations.
Five stars!
Great aid stations and bathrooms. STARTED ON TIME. Wonderful event!
YES
Hard on knees. Super fast.
Anna the employee was super helpful with same-day pick up and coordination.
Nice
No, I was using it as a long training run for my upcoming 100 ultra
Good
Consistent
Run your own race
None I live in the area
Keep it up Revel, Nicely done.
The most memorable parts of the course was miles 12-14 when we ran through a cloud! It was an eerie feeling and a really cool experience. The scenery during the first 20miles was awesome.
This was my first full so yes, by default I did PR! I wanted to do sub 4:30 and I bested my goal by almost 6min!
My only complaint would be the finish flats thru the city. Running alongside the narrow bike lane with traffic in both directions really made the ending more difficult. The only other gripe would be the hill on mile 21 or 22-
I’ve been training all year but I made up my mind to do this full in May. I did a lot of downhill and uphill each weekend. My last long run was a uphill downhill 20- that was on, Thursday the 27th of Sept. what I would do differently is give myself more recovery time on my legs- they were incredibly sore hitting mile 15.
Invest in good quality shoes- don’t cheap out. Consult with a podiatrist and chiropractor frequently during your training! Having medical advice along with good nutrition is the only thing that got me from running 1/2’s to a full. Carb load 2 days before your race not the night before. Your body will be using so much energy to digest your big meal so save all the energy you can. Cut out breads, oats, sugar and grain- moderate your fruit intake 2 weeks before your race and you’ll be surprised how much extra weight you’ll lose- I was 8lbs lighter for this race and it made a huge difference.
My wife and I traveled from Bakersfield. We ate out at a few places in San Bernardino and watched a movie Friday night.
I’ll be back next year!!
Awesome display of organization! Outstanding course!
Yes, by almost 7 minutes on half course.
Awesome. Little bit steeper than I expected, but doable without stressing legs and knees too much. Weather was perfect and it was awesome seeing the fog/clouds then running thru them.
normal half marathon training with some downhill. Next time, I will do longer runs on downhills!
Sign up for a Revel! Awesome experience!
Met up with my running family in finish area, enjoyed a beer and slice of pizza!. Then out to breakfast with my wife.
