This was the first race I ran the whole 13 miles. First all downhill race Made a few new friends
Yes. Shaved 15 minutes off
Perfect. Loved that you had stations every two miles
Run 3 days a week. Didn’t train much for this. Last minute thing I will train for next year and try to pr again
Only bring what you need.
We bbq after
I’ll definitely be back next year
My first revel elevation run. Excited and a little scared.
Yes did my PR shaved off 13min.
Beautiful Mountains and perfect weather. All downhill all the way through 10th miles
Run 3 to 4 times a week gym or outdoors
Don’t give up and carry light.Wear sunscreen, proper gear and wear your best running shoes.
Rented a caben and stayed overnight. Did not do much but we enjoy our togetherness among friends. We were entertained by karaoke and pool games.
Travel from San Diego
Absolutely PR’d. Unfortunately I’m not fast enough for a BQ. Maybe one day it will be mine.
Beautiful course hands down. Definitely hard on the body but probably worth it.
Actually I did two training long runs on this course prior. Perhaps more speed work and some extra strength training on the inner thighs. Make sure you train for down hill. It’s a whole different world.
Lots of local hotels. Perhaps near hospitality. Hilton and Marriott. Which also has all the local eating spots. It’s Cali so warm weather clothes with maybe one or two slight chill days.

Woke up at 4:00 am - made my way to the buses. Ride up to the start! Great vibe at the start; great people! Ran; finished; celebrated!!!
Yes - beat my BQ by 24 minutes!!! Beat my best Revel by 7 minutes!!!
A little surprising. I don't review a course before I run it - so I was surprise to have several uphills in the first 7 miles. Notices that we only defended about 1,600 ft by mile 9. Smoked the course from mile 9 to about 17.
I just run - work up to a 20 miler 2-3 weeks prior. Never made it to 20 this time around!!! 18 max this time
Be prepared to be sore!!! Steps will be your enemy.
Went to downtown Redlands. Orange Avenue Alley was really neat!
Really liked the announcement as you hit the finish line. Thank you.
Yes
Very fast. Course. Many runners fell. Beautiful scenery.
I lost speed after mile 10. I need to do more 10 plus mile runs
I would not stay in Big Bear. Very inconvenient
Nothing
From Las Vegas. Hope to do more revel races
Thanks
Yes I did! By 3 minutes
Great and tough at the same time.
Beautiful! My most memorable experience was being able to join my daughter Sheri Shimko and Granddaughter Ericka Butler in this event. Three generations!!!
This was my First official event! Did better than I thought!
The course was beautiful! The mountain scenery was fantastic!
I should have prepared better.I know I could have done better had I trained more.
Practice makes perfect!Train and “Just keep running, running, running!
Spending time with my daughter and granddaughter who traveled from Washington and Texas just for this event! They gave me encouragement and support that I could complete the race! I did it! and I am blessed!
God willing, I will participate again and encourage others to join.
The views were spectacular. The support was amazing. You knew exactly when the pictures were coming so you can avoid that awkward pose where you look half dead.
Yes. It was my first full marathon down hill. I cut half an hour out of my LAM time. No I did not set a PR because it was a first marathon I do down hill. I will need to do it again and then set a time and compare to this one.
It was fast. I loved that the down hill was not so steep. I have done Fontana and that course destroyed my hips and knees. A little bit of a slant but not as bad as Azusa Revel.
I did not have much down hill training.
Dress warm for the wait to at the top.
Not much, had dinner and spend time in the hotel, at Redlands
I loved this race.

Good race
No
Good course
Too many slow half walkers for too narrow a path the last two miles. Who takes 3 hour for a half?!! Ridiculous!
Nothing else
I don't understand what you want. I'm done.
Great course, organised very well
Perfect
My training was lackluster as I spent majority of my training injured. I wasn't able to get in the miliage and distance runs I needed
Do your training on flats and or slight descending grades to simulate sustained endurance over speed. Also do skip your track interval workouts
Just relaxed in Big Bear city for the following 24hrs, enjoying the restaurants, eating a lot and resting the legs
