I wanted to do the marathon but the drive time from airport to the race to finish line etc made that difficult as I had a flight to catch. I really enjoyed the Charleston run. .

Thank you for such well-organized race! The only suggestion I have is to hold the Expo indoors.

    2. Describe your race day.

Extremely well organized. A great memory.

    3. Did you PR?

It was my first event so it was 100% a PR

    4. How would you describe the course?

      Smooth sailing

    5. Tell us about your training.

I run daily around 6.2 miles. I had been having knee issues leading up to the race so I had to take a couple days off or well more at a walking pace. It seemed to work great

    6. What advice would you give future runners?

Go get it. You are your only obstacle.

    7. What fun things did you do in the area before or after the race?

      We camped in Big Bear.

    2. Describe your race day.

Everything went well until the last quarter and the traffic became a little overwhelming. It is a little disappointing to finish my first full marathon and there was only the beer tent left, not even anyone taking finisher photos. I realize most everyone was done and had gone, but maybe there could be a way for full marathon runners to start significantly earlier than the half marathoners so that the majority of the average runners could finish closer together so everyone could enjoy the finish festivities.

    3. Did you PR?

Yes, only because it was my first, but unfortunately I couldn't get a photo of it

    4. How would you describe the course?

It was pretty fun until we got into town which I did not enjoy

    5. Tell us about your training.

I train with two trainers, one for strength and one for functional. I also attend about five group cardio classes a week. I don't specifically train for marathons but I train for Spartan Races.

    6. What advice would you give future runners?

Still trying to figure out everything myself.

    7. What fun things did you do in the area before or after the race?

It was a bit damp before and after everything was put away so not much fun. All I got after was a bottle of water and a banana, not even a cold towel. Very disappointing.

    2. Describe your race day.

Amazing! I cannot stress how grateful I was that there were bathrooms every 2 miles. I stopped at each one. I have a LARGE kidney stone and a stent was put in 3 weeks ago after 2 visits to ER. Those bathrooms saved me!!! I’m having surgery Monday AM at 6:30. Everything was so organized. People were so friendly. The volunteers were awesome and encouraging. I will be running with Revel again. A class act!!! Bravo!

    3. Did you PR?

Yes, only because it was my first run. I’ll take it. I wasn’t trying to qualify for Boston.

    4. How would you describe the course?

I loved the course. Gentle downhill for 13.1. Again, thank you for the bathrooms every 2 miles. I would have had real issues if they hadn’t been there. I used each one along the way.

    5. Tell us about your training.

I paid for your online training. I appreciated the information however nobody every responded to my emails :( I’m a new runner (signed up for 13.1 and then started running). I hired a coach through FleetFeet and joined and half marathon and marathon running group. I stuck to the schedule from my trainer, I cross trained with TRX & yoga. I ran with my group twice a week and ran on my own during the week. I would highly recommend a running group. Plan everything for race day. Run with your hydration, your fuel, your clothes, everything. Don’t deviate on race day. Trust your training and have fun.

    6. What advice would you give future runners?

We came from NorCal. I got us an Airbnb in Highland. It was great. We were able to go back after the race, I showered, stretched, hydrated, and ate before we got into the car to drive home. Bring your snacks. Fruit, lots of water, and any other fuel. Run with your clothing before the race. Know how your carry it or shed it. Eat a good meal the night before. Know before hand what your body is comfortable with and keep it simple. Start to hydrate, hydrate, hydrate days before the race. No course tips, it was perfect.

    7. What fun things did you do in the area before or after the race?

We didn’t have time for extra fun. We came into town after 8 hrs driving, relaxed, had dinner, prepared my gear, slept and was up at 3 to get ready. Packed up immediately after the race and are driving home now. Came from Vacaville, CA.

You have written quite an impressive and well-detailed article for the kidney patient experience.
Kidney stones are typically a painful condition. Fortunately, diet can be an effective tool in managing and preventing kidney stones. Staying hydrated and avoiding certain foods that are high in salt and sugar, and pairing calcium with oxalate rich foods are important elements of a kidney stone diet.
CBLM is one of the top listed multispecialty hospitals which offers world-class treatment and surgery for kidney stones in India. Backed by a team of expert neurologists the hospital assists with appropriate diagnosis and treatment.

I qualified for Boston and had so much fun! Weather was great and met some nice people that pushed me along the way :)

    3. Did you PR?

Yes!! By 32 minutes and I qualified for Boston!

    4. How would you describe the course?

Awesome!!! Scenery was great and loved the downhill. I wasn’t affected by the elevation.

    5. Tell us about your training.

I had a coach a ran 6 days a week with interval training.

    6. What advice would you give future runners?

Train hard and put in the miles.

    2. Describe your race day.

Very early for buses - adults don’t fit well on school buses. The start was confusing and anti clamatic. No national anthem or gun. The course was nice. I saw 3 people fall and I hope they are okay. Very little pacers on course. The finish line was the best part of the race. I loved all the signs and photographers. Nice to see so many restroom stations. Love the short sleeve shirt. Such a beautiful color. Love all the samples in bag.

    3. Did you PR?

Yes by 23 minutes. I have no idea about Boston

    4. How would you describe the course?

Very pretty scenery. Since we were on one lane there were some hazards. Some cars passing by were not passing safely.

    5. Tell us about your training.

I’ve been training for Ragnar trail. If I had planned sooner to do this run I would of done an all down hill 10 mile run. Train going down hill.

    6. What advice would you give future runners?

Be able to shed clothing because of the cold.

    7. What fun things did you do in the area before or after the race?

I live in Norco so I didn’t travel far. My first half in Big Bear. I probably would do it again.

    2. Describe your race day.

It was easy to find the buses from the parking lot. The process of getting to the start was easy, and the bag drop was fast. I appreciated all the volunteers along the course helping runners with water and electrolytes. My pacing group started out too fast but I was able to hang back and pass them later in the race. The downhill was awesome, even with the slight incline towards the end.

    3. Did you PR?

      Yes, by almost 5 minutes.

    4. How would you describe the course?

Scenic, fast, with enough room for runners to spread out.

    5. Tell us about your training.

I used this race as training for CIM, so I've been running consistently. Weekly track workouts were very helpful and would recommend to other runners. I would have incorporated downhill training but I don't think I was adversely affected by the downhill grade.

    6. What advice would you give future runners?

Dress a little colder at the start; you'll warm up and want to shed layers if you're overdressed. Carry your own GUs and have a plan on how often to take them. Bring Oofos or other comfortable shoes to wear after the race.

    7. What fun things did you do in the area before or after the race?

None, I went home right after the race. It was mission accomplished!
