    2. Describe your race day.

Every detail for this race was well thought out - from parking (without charging), plenty of busses to the start line, LOTS of clean ports potties at the start line, providing gloves & blankets to keep warm before the start, got to see a beautiful sunrise! The photographers on the course were also is nice - I overheard one woman photographer say "this is so cool! I love my job!" Road closures & safety of runners was an obvious priority. The scenic view during the entire run was my favorite part of the race.

    3. Did you PR?

Yes, I did! By 11 minutes!!!

    4. How would you describe the course?

Scenic & challenging - don't let all the down hill fool you. Enjoyed every bit of it.

    5. Tell us about your training.

I fortunately live in an area with lots of hills - so that was very helpful. I'm also part of the Loma Linda Lopers running club & I have a great group of running buddies. I run approximately 30-40 miles a week.

    6. What advice would you give future runners?

Train for down hill running. Layer clothing - it's a bit cold waiting in the mountains before the start. The weather in November can range from being warm to cold - be prepared.

    7. What fun things did you do in the area before or after the race?

I didn't - but I want to come back to explore the San Gabriel mountains a bit more. There are lots a hiking trails. I only live 45 minutes so it would make a fun day or weekend trip.

    2. Describe your race day.

I love this race from beginning to end, very well organized, plenty of bathrooms and the start line and through the course, no long lines for the bag dropp off, volunteers were awesome, plenty of snacks at the aid stations and I'm loving my bling!

    3. Did you PR?

I didn't PR because I helped one of my friends having difficulties during the race, but I'm happy with my time!

    4. How would you describe the course?

      AMAZING AND ASTONISHING!

    5. Tell us about your training.

I trained pretty hard for this race, mostly doing hills repeat, weight training and a great nutrition!

    6. What advice would you give future runners?

Prepare to have the best time on this race and train properly with hills repeat and definitely weight training!

    7. What fun things did you do in the area before or after the race?

I stayed at the beer garden after the race and totally loved hanging out with my friends! Definitely enjoyed the Pie from Marie's Callenders!

    2. Describe your race day.

The views are spectacular. This is an amazing race. Parking for spectators is really easy and makes it more enjoyable.

    3. Did you PR?

Yes, by 41 minutes. Did not BQ.

    4. How would you describe the course?

Scenery is fantastic. The first half marathon takes its toll on your quads. This is where the bulk of your PR minutes will come from. The second half is more hilly, but still easier because of the loss of elevation.

    5. Tell us about your training.

Consistent weekly mileage is key. Going from 20-30, to 40-50 miles per week is where I saw major improvement. Adding quality workouts weekly, such as tempo runs, is how I got faster.

    6. What advice would you give future runners?

Bring a sweater and sweat pants to the starting line because it's really cold, then take it off and put it into your drop bag. Carbo-loading starts 3 days before the marathon, not the day before. Always eat a snack before the race, preferably 250-400 calories. Fueling consistently during the race delays and even avoids hitting the wall.

    7. What fun things did you do in the area before or after the race?

Take pictures and enjoy the pizza and pie given to runners. I traveled from Ontario, California.

    2. Describe your race day.

Beautiful day with many friendly participants and volunteers. An emotional experience at the finish line.

    3. Did you PR?

No, but just went over my goal by 3 minutes

    4. How would you describe the course?

Pretty smooth. Scenery beautiful, elevation good

    5. Tell us about your training.

I trained for about 4 months at a leisurely pace on my own. My training went well and I would definitely recommend that people give themselves at least 3 months training for the half

    6. What advice would you give future runners?

Enjoy the scenery and company and try not to hurt your self. Dress lightweight wear shoes that are spacious in the toe area.

    7. What fun things did you do in the area before or after the race?

I carbed up at Olive Garden the night before and plan on going to max Mexican food afterwards for a margarita to celebrate

    2. Describe your race day.

Most memorable was running the race with my oldest daughter. The course is very scenic. Revel runs a well-organized race.

    3. Did you PR?

      Sadly no.

    4. How would you describe the course?

Scenic. The first half is steep and I wasn't prepared for the nearly 2,000 feet of uphill that occurs after the halfway mark.

    5. Tell us about your training.

I have been sick so my training has been well off schedule. This is my first marathon back after being sick and my goal was to survive it which I did.

    6. What advice would you give future runners?

It is important to perform hill training both up and down.

    7. What fun things did you do in the area before or after the race?

None! Left my house in Victorville at 3:15 AM the morning of the race to catch a bus.

    2. Describe your race day.

Fun, easy access to busses and great environment.
The 1:30 pacer was super nice and knowledgeable as well as encouraging.

    3. Did you PR?

Yes by 5 1/2 minutes in the half marathon.

    4. How would you describe the course?

Beautiful, serene and calm and fast.

    5. Tell us about your training.

I am always training/ running. High mileage (50-60 miles or more/ week) works well for me.

    6. What advice would you give future runners?

Go out and bank time on the downhills, take it easy on the slight inclines and use the flat last few miles to stay steady and on pace.

    7. What fun things did you do in the area before or after the race?

      Live locally
