    2. Describe your race day.

Race day was great . We were well informed prior to race day, so we had all our essentials to prepare us. The volunteers and local law enforcement were amazing . Time management was on point. I was especially impressed by bag drop and pick up . A task that normally takes Forever and unorganized was smooth and quick. Also loved my name being announced as I crossed the finish line
      Course was beautiful !

    3. Did you PR?

I PR my 10k time by 20 minutes and same with my Half. This was my first full marathon so easy PR there. I did not BQ but I did not go in expecting to do so

    4. How would you describe the course?

Fast at first then the battle up some hills . Very scenic and great weather unless you were still running in late afternoon then it was fairly warm.

    5. Tell us about your training.

My training was not consistent and I missed most of my long runs. I went in only having run 14 miles, so I am pretty happy with my results considering . Advice know there are at least 3 inclines and don't go gunning it with out being aware of the incline

    6. What advice would you give future runners?

Get your long runs in and run some of the course prior

    7. What fun things did you do in the area before or after the race?

Before meet up with friends and after taking pics ,party was closing shop when I finished which was a boomer so make sure you finish before end mark to enjoy the festivities

    2. Describe your race day.

It was great race running with my team members. Great weather.

    3. Did you PR?

No. But did PR in last year's CC.

    4. How would you describe the course?

Great course although preferred course from last year. Could have skipped the new uphill at beginning and uphill at last mile - both unexpected.

    5. Tell us about your training.

Did lots of downhill training. Would add more up hills next time.

    6. What advice would you give future runners?

      Do lots of downhill training.

    7. What fun things did you do in the area before or after the race?

Traveled from LAX area. Spent night at Best Western Covina.

    2. Describe your race day.

Great experience. This is a trail marathon on the asphalt. For 23 miles of 26.2, you are running in the mountains. The route has the same features as Boston, with the first half downhill and the second half of hills.

    3. Did you PR?

Yes. I bested the last pr by over 10 minutes
(Tucson marathon 2011, 3:11;07). Today with 3:00:56:48, I won the age group (55-59).

    4. How would you describe the course?

      Beautiful and breathtaking

    5. Tell us about your training.

Week days: 5-8 miles with a combination of surface and trail runs.
Weekend: a long run of 15-26 miles, with some runs on the actual course.
Tapering: maintain 3 miles at the pace of the race

    6. What advice would you give future runners?

You have to try the real course as much as you could so that your body and mind would know every turn and change in elevation

    7. What fun things did you do in the area before or after the race?

Warm up and focusing on how to start at the beginning and enjoy the beer at the finish to celebrate your victory

    2. Describe your race day.

Overall very good organization, great website and information before the race, free photos, instant results on the site, well prepared race bag (for the anticipated cold start), a lot of aid stations, inspirational billboards, a lot of goodies (especially the cold towel) and live music at the finish. Still, I wished to freeze less (1h) before the start. Also the start of the race was chaotic because the start gun was missing. The views of the race were beautiful. Enjoyed downhill running until the muscle pain started. Nevertheless, the finish was well prepared and despite the pain got a lot of good emotions out of this race. To sum up, this is one of the nest organized races I participated. Awesome job, team!

    3. Did you PR?

No, because of the downhill race I got leg muscle pain/cramps. Lasted for 1/3 of the race and the last mile was an agony.

    4. How would you describe the course?

Fast downhill but painful at the end. Still enjoyed the beautiful canyon landscape.

    5. Tell us about your training.

I was training on the weekends for the most part (2x 1:30h runs), before the race also a few weekdays. Running on a flat surface. Rest of the time I am biking, 2 hrs per day.

    6. What advice would you give future runners?

      Train muscles for running downhill.

    7. What fun things did you do in the area before or after the race?

Warmed up with music before the race, Took Photos during and after the race, drank beer together with the team and listened to live music after the race.

P.S. Travelled from Burbank, CA. Woke up at 3:30 am to get ready on time.

    2. Describe your race day.

It started really good until the 6th mile. My pulled hamstring started to hurt. So I walked until the 11 mile. Then I hobbled to the finish line! I can't wait to re do this one again! Hopefully I'm 100%

    3. Did you PR?

No I didn't! I thought I was! But I can't complain, took me 2.17 minutes on one good leg! I was trying to do it under 1.40 minutes! No biggie, next time!

    4. How would you describe the course?

I thought it was pretty easy,to break my PR!

    5. Tell us about your training.

I've been running 6 days out of the week! Then on Long Beach marathon I felt my hamstring on the 10th mile! Since then it been hurting!

    6. What advice would you give future runners?

      Don't over do it!

    7. What fun things did you do in the area before or after the race?

Nothing was fun in the morning, we were all freezing! Lol

The only negative thing was,the way the race started,no one was really ready! My nephew and I and a couple runners were at the starting line! The lady that started the race, came to the starting line and she just counted from 10/ 1 and she said GO! We were ready but 99% of the people had no idea, that it had started!

    2. Describe your race day.

What I liked about Revel, Canyon City was smallness of the event.

    2. Describe your race day.

The day started with a bus ride through the canyons by moonlight. A brisk morning awaited us for the start. Great staff helped get the day started. The course was predominantly down hill to the 13.1 then the hills hit. The volunteers helped to keep us all motivated and hydrated. Mile 22 on was the hardest. The miles of down hill had taken its toll on my quads and knees. Powering through that to mile 26 and hearing the fans cheering and the announcer say my name as I was coming down the final stretch to the finish line is something I will never forget.

    3. Did you PR?

Yes it was my first Marathon. Did not qualify for Boston.

    4. How would you describe the course?

13.1 miles of down hill then some decent hill climbs. The rest of the course is slightly down hill. Scenery was beautiful with the exception of the burn area.

    5. Tell us about your training.

I just started running about 4 months ago. Trained for hill climbs and distance. Didnt really spend enough time training for downhill.

    6. What advice would you give future runners?

Train for down hill. Pace yourself. It is easy to run to fast on this course.

    7. What fun things did you do in the area before or after the race?

I traveled from Murrieta the morning of.

    2. Describe your race day.

Ran last year so I knew what to expect. Ran as hard as I could for the first 15miles & tried to take advantage of the downhill

    3. Did you PR?

No but ran my best time of 2015. 4 minutes faster than St George. Improved my BQtime also.

    4. How would you describe the course?

Similar to Boston in that first 13 miles downhill, uphill from 16-21, then down again. Of course the downhill are steeper than Boston and the uphill are shorter.

    5. Tell us about your training.

      I run 14 miles 3 days a week, 6-8 miles 3 days a week & bike >200miles a week. I run a marathon every 4-6 weeks.

    6. What advice would you give future runners?

Train on hills. Wear warm clothing to the start. Wear Hokas.

    7. What fun things did you do in the area before or after the race?

Left Carlsbad after noon swim. 2.5 hrs to drive 95 miles. Ugh! Salad & Menchies FroYo for dinner.
