    2. Describe your race day.

It was perfect. We found parking immediately. Boarded the bus and was at the start in no time. The start of the race was right on time. And the course was fast yet challenging. The finish was awesome and the medals were incredible.

    3. Did you PR?

Did not PR but was very close.

    4. How would you describe the course?

The course has it's challenging hills but overall one of the best half marathon, if not the best course I've ran yet.

    5. Tell us about your training.

What training? I guess this could be why I didn't PR.

    6. What advice would you give future runners?

Best advice I could give is to do a few training runs with some down hill.
Dress warm because it could get pretty cold up in that area in the mornings.

    7. What fun things did you do in the area before or after the race?

      Lol... drink beer!

    2. Describe your race day.

Fairly warm weather in the morning where the buses were parked (around 60 degrees). About 10 degrees cooler where the race began. We were shuttled up the mountain in very comfortable buses with reclinable seats so we could catch up on sleep. Lots of portapotties didn't have to wait long. Race weather was perfect all the way down- mostly cool and overcast! Miles 13-21 are brutal rolling hills. But overall race was good. No cheese/vegetarian pizza option at finish!!

    3. Did you PR?

No. I had difficulty on miles 13-21

    4. How would you describe the course?

First 13 miles are flat/downhill. Miles 13-21 are rolling hills with 5-6 climbs of 50-100ft. The rest of the course is slightly downhill/flat.

    5. Tell us about your training.

About 50 miles per week running, 50 miles per week road biking.

    6. What advice would you give future runners?

      Save energy for miles 13-21.

    7. What fun things did you do in the area before or after the race?

Unfortunately I had to head back home! But I had a fun race overall.

    2. Describe your race day.

Amazing experience! Rode to the top of a mountain on switch back roads in the dark to watch the sunrise at the top and then be dazzled by spectacular views as we made our decent! The course was the most fun marathon course I've ever experienced! Safety was definitely a top priority. Thank you for the experience of a lifetime!

    3. Did you PR?

I did not PR. I was 4 minutes off. I think I spent too much time taking pictures !

    4. How would you describe the course?

The scenery was spectacular! It was a tough course to run. The downhill takes a toll on your legs. Hitting some inclines after 13 miles of decline was tough for sure. Even the flat sections seemed hard at times. It definitely uses different muscle groups.

    5. Tell us about your training.

I live in an area with rolling hills. I had to run uphill a lot in order to get in the downhills. It would have been worth taking a couple road trips to get some longer downhill runs in prior to the race.

    6. What advice would you give future runners?

I wish I had known about the cabins at the top of the mountain. Staying in one of those would have made for the perfect adventure!

    7. What fun things did you do in the area before or after the race?

Hop on Hop off tour in LA the day before the race. Venice Beach after. Caught the red-eye home to NY that night.

    2. Describe your race day.

Parking was easy to find and lots of spaces. Very organized and buses were clean andadequate. Gloves, beanies and blanket helped in warming before the race. Water and powerade were helpful before the race. Potties were plentiful and long lines were avoided. Pacers helped a lot in meeting goals. Volunteers were excellent. Placement of stations are excellent too. Free photos are a great plus. Post race was top notch. Shirt is very nice. Medal is awesome.

    3. Did you PR?

Yes. By 6 min 52 sec.

    4. How would you describe the course?

Great view. Not too easy and still challenging.

    5. Tell us about your training.

I trained on hills. Uphill and downhill. I joined other races. Train on hills and not just flat surfaces. Warm up first and dont be tempted to run too fast on the first mile and you might pay for it on the next 2-3 miles

    6. What advice would you give future runners?

Extra clothes for cooler morning temp.

    7. What fun things did you do in the area before or after the race?

Photos, cheer on other runners, watched the band.

    2. Describe your race day.

We'll organized and very scenic course. Weather was perfect, not to cold at the beginning, not to hot at the end. My wife and I are looking forward to doing this for a 3rd time next year.

    3. Did you PR?

      No

    4. How would you describe the course?

Love it! The miles seem to go by quickly.

    5. Tell us about your training.

A lot of hills. I live in the neighborhood so I train regularly on the lower section of the course.

    6. What advice would you give future runners?

      Hill training.

    2. Describe your race day.

This is my first half marathon. I was inspired by watching runners from last years event and made it a goal to be able to run this race this year. Support was great! Course was great!

    3. Did you PR?

It was a PR for this distance being I've never ran this distance before. 2:26 min

    4. How would you describe the course?

Beautiful and challenging at points but mostly smooth and down hill

    5. What advice would you give future runners?

Where layers as the race starts off cold at moderate elevation.

Extremely organized and great finishing area with great treats at the end! Pizza, aloe gloe, and pie- best race finishing snacks I have seen in years.

    3. Did you PR?

      No

    4. How would you describe the course?

Scenery was great, a little too much downhill for my legs.

    2. Describe your race day.

I love this race. Downhill race really re-energize me when I start to get tired. Azusa community really supportive. Volunteers were great. The free Pizza and Pie was delicious, thank you. Announcer yelling the runners name at the end make us feel special. My favorite race.

    3. Did you PR?

I did not sadly. Like 20 seconds from 2 years ago. Second Half Marathon.

    4. How would you describe the course?

Amazing! The scenery was spectacular! 1st 3 miles was sort of hard but right after the Main Event began.

    5. Tell us about your training.

Uphill followed by downhill repeats. Focus more on letting go when going downhill. Proper training and relax when going down.

    6. What advice would you give future runners?

Advice for other runners would be to wear at least double layers of upper and lower body clothing. It gets really cold. For the course don't concentrate on your pace you will PR. Enjoy the scenery.

    7. What fun things did you do in the area before or after the race?

Came from Orange, CA. Stayed at an aunt's house which is less than 3 miles from the bus loading. Convenient to stay in the city the day before to get more sleep if possible.
