    2. Describe your race day.

Day was fun but I would suggest that they give something to hold the goodies in at the end so we are not scrambling to not drop anything.

    3. Did you PR?

No with a foot injury I was taking the course easy so was not trying just enjoying the fact I was running

    4. How would you describe the course?

      Decent

    5. Tell us about your training.

With a foot injury training was not able to happen often

    6. What advice would you give future runners?

Revel is a great race and can only say the best about the people running it.

    7. What fun things did you do in the area before or after the race?

By the time I reached the hotel it was time to get rest as it was a Friday and traffic

    2. Describe your race day.

Although bus driver got lost on the way up to rhe start. The race over all was great. I will be back.

    3. How would you describe the course?

The course was beautiful and running down hill made it easy, unless you had discomfort in the left side it band. I was never able to widen my stide going down hill because of the discomfort.

We too thought the bus drivers got lost, but near the top of the mountain we think they needed to go PAST the road to the start and turn around because the turn would have been too tight to take going uphill

    2. Describe your race day.

I don't have anything to compare it to because this was my FIRST marathon, but I had a wonderful time! The first half nearly scared the pants off me because I was running SO FAST. I got back to normal in the second half when some up hills started to appear. I stopped at every well placed water station and enjoyed the scenery. It was the best first experience I could have asked for, here is to the next marathon!

    3. Did you PR?

I was 10 minutes off from qualifying for Boston, however my goal was to finish in 4 hits and I did 3:45... So I am happy!

    4. How would you describe the course?

      Downhill, fast, sore calves.
      Two parts, challenging, amazing!

    5. Tell us about your training.

I started training in the summer with friends running New York and decide why not, I've always wanted to run a marathon. I live in Washington and wanted a west coast race end of October, beginning of November, and ta-da I ended up doing the canyon city.

    6. What advice would you give future runners?

The pacers are excellent, so trust them and stick with them instead of letting the hills pull you down to fast. Bring your stick and calf compression socks for the end!

    7. What fun things did you do in the area before or after the race?

Went to Monrovia for dinner, cute little city!

    2. Describe your race day.

I ran a steady race, running the flats and descents, but doing run/walk on the uphills. In the last 3 miles, I went to a hard run/walk. I loved the finish. It was fun to sprint around the last turn and have the finish line right there, with friends cheering me on.

    3. Did you PR?

      No.

    4. How would you describe the course?

I liked the course. I'd describe it as rolling terrain with two long downhills. There's a lot of uphills.

    5. Tell us about your training.

Long runs using run/walk. Track speed work, hill repeats, and hiking. I would do more speed work and downhill running to prep for the long descents.

    6. What advice would you give future runners?

Arrive early! The last 1/2 mile drive took 20 minutes because the shuttle buses park on the same street (Citrus). There's plenty of parking. It's really cold at the start, and you're waiting there a long time.

    2. Describe your race day.

      Scenery and down hills.

    3. Did you PR?

None of the below. I was coming off a little lay off from racing and just wanted to test and see where I stand. I missed PR by 2 minutes and 9 minutes for BQ. Good race and I am going to try for BQ next year

    4. How would you describe the course?

Very good, lot of downhills but it's not an easy course. A lot of toll on the body, especially, legs

    5. Tell us about your training.

Good thing that I did leg weight training and ran hilly courses once a week. Add calf raises and little more intense leg weight training and speed training

    6. What advice would you give future runners?

Easy to locate shuttle parking, wear lots of layers when heading up to the starting line and take a good nap in the bus because it's an hour drive. I wish the race would start maybe half an hour earlier.

    7. What fun things did you do in the area before or after the race?

From Los Angeles, pretty much returned home after sharing the experience with my running group mates

    2. Describe your race day.

This was a beautiful course with amazing staffing and volunteers! Everything was so well organized, all the email communication was very helpful. The volunteers at the later water stops with jugs of water to top off any water bottles was genius! I've stood at water stops pouring half cups of water into my water bottle too many times.

Also, the runners on this race were the friendliest I have ever run with. So many ran by and encouraged me. During the final tough miles, I never felt alone, there was always someone to chat or commiserate with! More than once I saw someone stop to stretch and always other runners would say, "Are you okay?" From first time marathoners to those who have run dozens, people were just friendly on the bus, at the start, and during the race.

    3. Did you PR?

Yes! I set a new PR by 7:02. I didn't BQ, but I'm really proud of my race,

    4. How would you describe the course?

The San Gabriel Mountains are just beautiful. It was cool at the start, but with the sun in our face most of the day, layers were quickly dropped. The first half flew by with over 4,000' of elevation loss, but the second half killed my legs! It was definitely tough.

    5. Tell us about your training.

I did one long training run on the course - 16 miles, so I knew hills would be coming - that really helped mentally. I wish I had done 20 miles on the course!

    6. What advice would you give future runners?

We stayed at the DoubleTree in Monrovia - about 9 miles from the start. It was really nice and bagged breakfasts were ready at 4:00. There was plenty of parking at the college and the buses were ready and waiting.
Friday night we had pizza at Avolio's in Covina (conveniently located between the expo and our hotel.)
Course tip: This is NOT all downhill. While there is minimal elevation gain, after 14 miles of downhill, even the smallest hill will feel like Mount Everest! Don't go out too fast, my legs were really beat up.
Take an extra layer that you don't mind tossing on the road after a few miles. It's chilly at the top, I was shivering with two layers on, but warmed up quickly.

    7. What fun things did you do in the area before or after the race?

We only live about an hour away, so after receiving my medal, the awesome cold towel and water, a few pictures, and my drop bag, we drove home. Our spa was heated and waiting!

    2. Describe your race day.

It was gorgeous. Not too cold but beautiful weather. Loved the gorgeous views.

    3. Did you PR?

No not this time but I will next time for sure!

    4. How would you describe the course?

Scenery is beautiful. It is different running a down hill course for sure. Hard to pace yourself with momentum pulling you downward.

    5. Tell us about your training.

I unfortunately live in a very flat place so my only hill is a bridge and any other races that have hills in them.

    6. What advice would you give future runners?

Pack for both cooler and warmer temps.

    7. What fun things did you do in the area before or after the race?

Traveled from SC. I was in and out so there was no time for fun things in the area

I had a great time..I didn't expect the hills so that was a surprise...and it was very cold to have to wait over an hour before running.

      Hilly and downhill
