New PR for me by 8 minutes

    4. How would you describe the course?

Course was fun - great weather day - cool. Grade overall was great - loved running along bear creek.

Great race day .... I signed up last year and was disappointed with the unorganized event and no busses.
Great job this year and the the gloves- hats and thermal blankets just added to it.
      Thank you!

    2. Describe your race day.

It was a great day! Perfect weather, lots of great people.

    3. Did you PR?

No. I PR'd Revel Mt. Charleston last month

    4. How would you describe the course?

      Beautiful course.

    5. Tell us about your training.

I have been training on trails, so the downhill felt so easy. Tempo runs in my training plan were very helpful.

    6. What advice would you give future runners?

Bring something warm for hanging around before the race.

    7. What fun things did you do in the area before or after the race?

      Local, so didn't stay around.

Thanks for having lots of busses this year. Last year was going to be my 50th half, but with no busses it wasn't. This year, it was my 0th half, and it did not disappoint!

    2. Describe your race day.

The weather was perfect, the course was great, we loved the volunteers at the aid stations. Everything was awesome!

    3. Did you PR?

Yes, not quite sure by how much.

    4. How would you describe the course?

      Downhill, fast, and BEAUTIFUL!

    5. Tell us about your training.

We followed a couch to 5k, then jumped into week 3 of a couch to 1/2 plan. My running partner and I live in a hilly town, so that helped.

    6. What advice would you give future runners?

Arrive in Denver at least 3 days in advance, hike the BEAUTIFUL Rocky Mountain National Parka a couple of days before. This really helped us acclimate to the elevation. We also took chlorophyll pills.

    7. What fun things did you do in the area before or after the race?

We hiked, explored downtown Denver and Golden, and enjoyed the scenery.

    2. Describe your race day.

This is a beautiful course, I was amazed every step of the way. I will definitely run this again.

    3. Did you PR?

I didn't PR but that wasn't my goal, I just wanted to run a constant race mile after mile and I did.

    4. How would you describe the course?

BEAUTIFUL is the only word that describes this course.

    5. What advice would you give future runners?

Sign up for this run and get blown away by the beauty of this course and the fantastic group that puts it on.

    2. Describe your race day.

We arrived at the start way early and were very thankful for the space blankets. Hubby asked "what if it was raining" & I was thinking we'd be so hosed. Seeing everyone in the ziffy pop blankets made me laugh. Once at the start it all ran so south and my nerves were no longer an issue

    3. Did you PR?

I did. No walking abd my tune was great. ...but that included the 3 bathroom breaks to so b the 10:57/mi might be mute like 10:50. Both PR for me for that far

    4. How would you describe the course?

The scenery was amazing. Can't be beat. The grade was hard on my knees and ankles tho. Not the down hill but the banked grade of the road.

    5. Tell us about your training.

I would include a bigger strength day in there. This was my first half so i an very pleased

    6. What advice would you give future runners?

Plan and do it. Planning is essential tho.

Beautiful course! Awesome race! But what about post race food? There was nothing except a banana and a bagel!

    3. Did you PR?

No. But I was running with a friend to help her get her PR and she did

    4. How would you describe the course?

      Gorgeous!

    5. Tell us about your training.

      Great!

    6. What advice would you give future runners?

Bring your own food for post race. There is nothing

    7. What fun things did you do in the area before or after the race?

Traveled from Greeley. Out to dinner and hotel with friends the night before

    2. Describe your race day.

The scenery, of course, was magical. Volunteers at aid stations were encouraging. The weather held up and was very tolerable for most of the day--right up until the last 40 minutes or so, when the heat became difficult.
The worst thing--by far--was the fact that Gatorade and water at the final few rest stops was really warm, and not something I could keep down.
The best thing at the finish--those ice cold towels. That stopped me from actually throwing up due to the heat.

    3. Did you PR?

I did not PR, but there are several reasons for that. I've never run a marathon at altitude; I had just ran another marathon the previous weekend, only the second time I've attempted that feat; I'm recovering from a groin injury; and it was hotter than expected. I was 15% slower than my PR.

    4. How would you describe the course?

I would say that it is important to alter your description of the race on the website, because you strongly give an impression that it's an entirely downhill course, and that just isn't true. The hills in the middle stretch (miles 13-16) could be daunting for someone who wasn't expecting them. I had driven the course before the race, so I was aware of the reality of it.
The course does feature tremendous scenery. The downhill grade is really reasonable for the first 12 miles. There were some parts in the last few miles that were difficult to run because of the fatigue coupled with the pitch.

    5. Tell us about your training.

This was my sixth marathon since October 1. I am pretty regularly at marathon endurance at any given point. I did not have the opportunity to do altitude training, because I live in Illinois.

    6. What advice would you give future runners?

I would encourage others to get used to high-altitude running, as my lungs were burning by mile 19. I would also say, in general, not to run a June marathon.

    7. What fun things did you do in the area before or after the race?

I stayed with my best friend in Lakewood for a few days. We saw some sights around Denver, including a drive up to the peak of Mt .Evans.
