Downhill for the first 8 miles and flat thereafter

My wife did. I ran with her to provide support.
Mostly open, straight, and remarkably consistent grade. Very fast, especially with the tail wind.
I haven't run much because of an injury. I had to switch from the full to the half marathon.
Hike Red Rock Canyon, visited Children's Museum, visited The Strip.
My only criticism is that it is inconvenient to have the parking 1 mile away from the finish. There was a long wait to get on a shuttle back to the parking. Seems like you should be able to find a way to end the race closer to where people can park.
That comment was from Mike Simpson, not Tracy Heywood. :-(
Another great Revel race! I realized after the finish that I ran the race in the Big Cottonwood shirt from 2016, wore the sweatshirt for the Canyon City from 2014 to keep warm after the race and was wearing the Mt Charleston medal from 2017!Only thing left is to do Denver!
It was one of the greatest experiences ever, thank you!
Very well organized, the track was filled with great views!
Perfect (except for the short uphill lol) Great views throughout the race, great location!
I will train more next time but regardless the course was great!
Train!!!
I live in las vegas. But eat pasta the night before!
12 minutes faster
awesome fast and great!
Great race will definitely do it again!
Very well organized.
It would have been nice if the half marathon also started from the top/lodge to really appreciate the mountains
Should have trained better, especially the downhill.
Train well
Perfect! I love down hill running, the most spectacular experience was the snow falling on us the first 3 miles, that was really special, I'll never forget it.
Yes, 23 minutes!!! And BQ'd
Great if you don't need bands or spectators along the course, I thought it was great, same road for 21 miles without traffic!!! The first 11 miles were pretty good downhill, then it continued downhill but not as much, last 4 miles were flat( except the overpass)
Hill training, down hill roads, decline treadmill, lunges, aqua jog, stairclimber, elliptical, chin ups push-ups planks, plyometrics. DO plenty of excercising to make quads as strong as possible
Make sure your built for downhill running or your quads will not be able to take the pounding and by mile 14, they will be screaming at you.Drive the course, bring several different outfits, and throw away clothes, start was 38, finish was 66, it's much colder on top of the mountain at 7600 elev
Relaxed!Traveled from Texas
the cool temperature and partly cloudy skies made for perfect race weather. Seeing my wife and two granddaughters at the rail about 100 yards from the finish and running by them for some quick high fives was my race highlight.
i was able to set a 13 minute PR. Also BQ'd by 13 minutes.
the course fast. the downhill grade on the first 21 miles was comfortable and not too steep.
my training didn't deviate much. i always include hills on my long runs. i really worked on my downhill form.
plan for cold temps while waiting for the start. enjoy your experience.
i'm a local so i enjoyed talking to fellow runners from out of state before the race. i met some very nice people..
The perfect race; cool, quick, and beautiful!
Yes, I did.I ran a the week before and had a PR of 4:16.This weekend, I ran REVEL Mt. Charleston and PR again but this time I finished at 3:46.I dropped my previous PR by 30 minutes, unbelievable!
The course was beautiful & quick, the weather was great, and the experience was amazing!
I've been running a marathon almost monthly so I knew I had trained for this course. I also ran REVEL Canyon City, so I have the experience on how to run downhill.
Start off easy, let gravity get you to your ideal pace, once the you start the second half, then it is time to start push heart out!
It's Las Vegas, what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas, unless you PR/BQ!
Thank you and I'll be back again next year!
What a great race! Fast, downhill course! Super well-organized and fun! Loved the photo opps at the finish line and the personalized result card.
I PRed by 9 minutes and qualified for Boston and New York!
Beautiful downhill course!
Definitely incorporate a lot of downhill running!
