Couldn't ask for a better organized race. Everything from packet pickup, to shuttles,to porta potties, to finish line and picking up gear. So well done.
I did not. But I did run under 3:30 which was my sole goal.
It was a great course. Fast for the first 18 island then flattens out. If you trained right this would be a fantastic PR course. Gorgeous scenery as well.
I am coming off another couple of marathons this spring so this race just fit in. I didn't do any downhill training. Could've helped maybe but honestly - the grade was such I don't know that it was necessary.
Be prepared for the flat. You fly down the course and then you hit the flat and your speed may go away (at least it did for me). Lube up your feet. You're likely to get blisters if you don't.
We were in town for less than 24 hours - we were just here for the race. I was here from Kansas City.
The only thing I find curious is the lack of paper cups and using plastic instead. Tough to pinch and keep running. Everything else is spot on!-
Awesome. Organized.
Yes
Great
I didn't
Practice running downhill
4/5 Stars
Very well organized, great downhill course
Yes!!! Took 4 minutes off my half-marathon time
Majority downhill, Miles 9-11 a bit of incline
I didn't train any different
Dress in layers, run in short sleeves, leave jackets long sleeves at bag dropDon't be afraid to increase your speed go with gravity
Denver co
Thank you for a great race!
Loved the course, perfect weather, awesome volunteers!!! Made a fun girl's trip with awesome friends!!!
Yes, PR'd by 14 minutes and qualified for Boston.
The first 3-4 miles were my favorite, beautiful & scenic. The rest of the scenery was just ok in my book. A few little hills on the first half but nothing too significant and the downhill grade made up for it. The last half seemed a lot less downhill but not totally flat. The last 5 miles though, hard, flat, and un-scenic.
Felt great about my training, I originally signed up for the half but decided to do the full because my friends were all training for full marathons.
We drive the course the day before the race so we knew what to expect, I was glad we did.
Cheesecake Factory for dinner & shopping at the outlets. We came from St. George, Utah.
Great day overall. Race started on time, transportation was good, lots of photography opts and frequent aid stations.
Yes I PR with 3:07 I beat my old time by 20 minutes.
Lots of downhill with great scenery. The volunteers were great and helpful. Lots of bathroom available too.
The food choices at the end we also very good and the massages plenty of tables so everyone can get in.

Good race with plenty of support. Fast course! Nice fellow runners :)
No. 12 seconds off PR set 10 years ago.
Nice scenery and very fast! Very manageable downhill grade as long as you train for it. Elevation none factor.
I did practice run on course last week. I should have done 4-5 more! Get plenty of hill training before doing this race !
I was local so no travel. However come in 3-4 days early. There is never ending things to do here besides the Strip. Vaseline your feet especially the toes before you race as your toes will jam into front of your shoes and cause blisters unless you do. This will happen even if you don't normally blister because of the downhill grade. Weather was good and is usually even better this time of the year.
I am local but you can do almost anything here. Hike, bike, climb, trail run, sight see, dance, party, and go to a Show! Just millions of things to do :)
Fun race if you like running out in the country. Plenty of people around for the entire race. If you want to run fast, DO IT !!!!!!
A+ to the organizers! The race was super well run. Plenty of shuttle buses, porta potties and aid stations. The mile markers were really visible. The food at the end was great. The course is super fast but a little on the boring side and you miss the fans. But I definitely will do it again!
yep! By 10 minutesIt was the half, so no qualifying
Great. The elevation map is a little misleading though. It seemed like the first 8 were all downhill, but after that it felt pretty level with a few slight rises and drops. The only negative for me was the finish line being hidden from view. I prefer to be able to see it coming down the final stretch.
Came from SoCal to run with my sister and friends.
The conditions were great, the people were a lot of fun, the volunteers were dynamite, and I got a ton of encouragement! Since this was my first half marathon, a group of people attempting to run it in two hours gave me great advice, and helped me have my best and fastest mile between mile six and seven.
Since this was my first half marathon I did a personal record of two hours and seven minutes, not sure that was the official time, but it's what I clocked on my own device.
I thought the course was ideal, especially for a first timer. The downhill course for the first 7 miles or so help me pick up a good steady pace and the flats toward the last part of the course were very manageable.
I don't know that I really trained for this. I didn't find out about this particular race until a week before hand when a friend suggested I do it. I have been running for about a year, and I've been running between 5 and 7 miles at a time for the past nine months or so.
Make sure you got proper gear before doing this. I was fortunate in that I was able to buy new shoes before hand from people who run these races regularly. They also recommended a few other items and all that made it a much more manageable run.
It's Las Vegas, so I was able to jump right into the debauchery of it all!
The weather was nice and cool on race morning. The event was well planned and the course was truly beautiful.
Yes. This was my first race and I intended to finish under 2 hrs. I did it in 1:47.
The course is very beautiful. Let's of sites to see.
I never ran more than 17 kilometres before. Next time I will be better prepared. The 17 kilometres training I had before helped me stay fit until about the 17th kilometre mark and after that I started struggling.
Train hard and believe in yourself.
I met up with participants from the pasadena pacers and team keep it moving for dinner. It was nice and we had fun.
I think everything was very well organized, and I enjoyed my race day,but I was very disappointed that you ran out of age group awards when you now exactly how many you need
I did PR and I qualified fo Boston by 50 minutes
I live in Las Vegas and I now the course well , great course I don't think it's to aggressive
For sure run plenty of down hills
Don't ver dress normally it's not that cold for this time of year, definitely a cushion shoe
I live in Lasvegas,
If I get my award I'll run it again
