5/5 Stars
Relaxed.
Not this time.
Pleasant
Consistent
Truly steady down hill....
Yes I PRd!!! No not where I need to be for Boston but I'll be back next year !
Steady downhill course .... should PR here no problem!
I focused on long runs on Saturday or Sunday... and shorter run during the week , hill work , speed work are part of my short run training ... and finally balance training with the gym , swimming ect...
This one is all downhill , you need to have some training that gets your body adjusted... clothes are personal , it is cold at the start on this race , but warms up significantly as you hit mile 5/6...
This is Vegas!!! What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas !#getrachet
I would only challenge one thing... more water stations as you get into higher mileage ... anything after 19 miles may require more then the standard ... outside of that loved it ! Really good job !!!!!
It was a very organized race, I did enjoy it and can't wait for next year !!
I Had to do the half only because I am pregnant I did the full last year and I will PR and be a Boston qualifier next year !!
Really nice I loved it !!
I would run more miles per week of course I do crossfit and boot camp just need to add more running
Never give up !!
Went shopping and had lunch with my runner partner
Love Revel
Love Running Revel
I really enjoyed my race today and can't wait for next year
Good organization, details, and where to go and what to do. Great finish line with the crowds and cheering and announcing.
Haven't run a half in awhile so not sure.
Loved it with the grade and beautiful scenery. The aid stations and restrooms every 2 miles was fantastic!
I felt I trained sufficiently and was prepared. I mapped the course on my incline trainer so I could run the actual course.
Train on running downhill for distances.
I live here.
Thank you for a great race. I would definitely do it again!
Just another nice running day. Made new friends and enjoyed my run. Well, other than my back pain.
No. Was hoping to but back surgery is in my near future.
In general, a nice course. Being so straight is not my favorite but I can't have everything. I will say the course is beautiful! The last few miles were not the best.
Run five days a week, downhill and distance. Also worked on strenthening my core.
Train!
Not much. It was a short trip from S. Ca.
Absolutely loved it! Chilly start, but great course! I'll definitely add it to my list of favorite go to every year races! Loved all the side stations with porta potty, swag bags were great! No complaints!
No
Gorgeous, perfect amount of downhill, not too steep.
My sister and I workout and run together reguarly.
Do it! (Bring a jacket!)
Came from Arizona, we travel to Vegas a couple times a year. The usual shopping and fun!
Excellent. Everything that was promised. It was great to see so many who had PRs and/or BQs.
No because of the crazy out and back at mile 24. Why? It killed people when they turned the corner and saw a hill and a headwind. Overall time was 3:34 (3rd fastest). Could have blown it out the water because I was running great and looking at 3:20. BQ by 21 minutes.
Great, except for out and back
Treadmill decline
Train for decline and build up you quads. Race hotel (Marriott) a little disappointing. No food in the morning. Bar not open until 5pm. Plus a long way from the Strip, the start, and the expo. Expo could be at the hotel. Anna is great. Lots of communication and constantly keeps you updated.
Flew in late from Atlanta. I asked for a packet pick up at the bus location. The packet guy was at a table with no sign or light. Pretty stressful. Not sure it was worth the cost.
I couldn't believe how fast I was able to run down the mountain! It was a well organized race and I was impressed from start to finish. I thought the announcer at the finish line was very energetic and motivating when finishing the race. It is definitely one race that I would like to run again!
YES! I had already had a fast PR and I couldn't believe that I was able to beat that time!
Excellent. It was well thought out, but could have more water stations.
I'm currently training for Grandma's Marathon and I decided to run this race to see how my training was coming along. Also, I choose to run the half to get a feel for what running downhill feels like on my legs before I decide to run a full marathon.
Speed / interval training is a key workout to focus on running cadence / turnover to prepare for running fast down a hill.
After the race, I checked into a hotel on the Strip and saw the Michael Jackson ONE show to celebrate my new PR in the half! I traveled to the race from Minneapolis, MN.
It was an amazing race. The scenery was beautiful the weather was perfect. Will definitely do this run again next year.
Yes I did on everything. I took of 1 min and 10 sec off of my mile per minute. Knocked off 18 min from the rock n roll marathon last November
Amazing
Was on a diet plan. I also worked out a lot at the gym.
All about making sure to have the right shoes and working out and running
None I live here
Hope to see this marathon come back.
I know Revel doesn't control the weather, but it was as near perfect as it could get. From the gentle snow the first few miles , to the perfect temperature for relaxing at the finish area.
This was a PR for me by more than 15 minutes. I ran another touted "fast" course a few months ago and did a PR in that one by about 6 minutes, so to beat that time by another 15+ minutes here at Mt Charleston was incredible. I also qualified for Boston (first time ever, and by over 8 minutes).
Amazing/fast course. Not too high of altitude at the start, and a gentle down grade (not so steep as to beat me up).
I worked off a 16 week training plan. Would have liked to have had a little more down hill training, but hard to find in my area.
Don't run this one as your first one...you'll never like another one as much as Mt Charleston.
Traveled from Mesa AZ.Thank you for putting this together, and thanks to all the great volunteers.
